Yep. Big brother is watching us... They busted some cattle thieves and waited to catch them at a moment when no one got hurt. Terrible. We really should start shooting these people out of the sky. For if you can no longer steal cattle and have a good gun fight, the world and the whole democracy is obviously ending in a handbasket.

    Please give me a break.

Right, because there is no other way to catch a cattle thief. It's called privacy, something that has constantly gotten torn to bits since 9/11.

do not for one minute (pronounced my-nute in this meaning) moment believe that law enforcement agencies in your area are not using those big ear listening devices either. they are & they do at a constant. the lawmen & law ladies constantly aquire information illegally & whatnot. they enjoy playing good guys & bad guys.

i know cops who have poped the hoods on cars & removed wires from distributor caps, broke tail lights, used big ear listening devices & taken alcohol & weed from teenagers or adults in roadside traffic stops & did not turn the stuff in but rather used it themselves & for decades.

trust the people in authority positions and you are out of your frickin tree. if they want you bad enough they will do whatever it takes to get your dumb ass. the best part is getting on their good side & then they wont fuck with you. basically don't be an ass, shut your face & mind your own business. if you're gonna be a outlaw criminal do not talk about your shit & keep your fat ass off their radar

rustling cattle is pretty much a bad decision as is growing a sticky buddly garden... what the fuck is a guy to do?

Its refreshing to see you agree with conservatives on this! Do you understand how big govt. drives these policies? If the govt. needs to generate revenue from the private sector....and the working class....they install cameras on traffic lights to catch them speeding! Takes money from the working class to feed the ever hungry appetite of the federal govt.!

Which is why if we had a small limited and fiscal federal govt. then we wouldnt have cameras on traffic lights and other issues with the overreach of the govt.! Im for small, fiscal limited govt! You know...one that has a balanced budget!

  • If the USA employs 10,000 drones now....we can use them for a year, then export them to the rest of the world, and make newer better ones. Isnt that all against the wishes of EVERYONE! Its like anyone who has a big debt or big bills, will do anything to pay them or catch up! A hungry govt. needs more money to pay its bills. Obama is expanding, printing, spending and taxing! We need to reverse the course that we are on!

This is one area that should have everyones support!

Im pretty sure Romney would not have done this like Obama does. For one, Obama is seeking to invade privacy like I have never seen before! Also, raise revenues for his montrous govt.

I see very little difference in the two. Actually, I think Romney would have continued and expanded the drone program. It's the future of warfare

Mitt Romney does not give one iota about our privacy. He's big government in a different suit

They were cattle thieves. I rather have them caught than steal more cattle. Sometimes when I read these posts I feel like I am back in the Wild Wild West. Teachers with guns, fireman with guns, people taking the law into their own hands - I am waiting for the first shoot down at noon - spaghetti western style.

That said, I also believe our privacy should be safeguarded. But I think that the privacy of non-US citizens are much more in danger (Guantamano anyone?) than US citizens. In a democracy we have, thank God, many watch dogs to lobby and bring these issues to light. Lets please stay calm instead of paranoid. (And before we start shooting drones out of the sky that may end up being commercial flights.) It is not 1984. There is still a democracy. The US government is not out to get you. There will be no New World Order dictatorship tomorrow. Democracy lives and stands by checks and balances and the division of power. That still exists. Besides, the internet is much more dangerous than any drone flight. Your weblog and history, even the comments you write here, are much more accessable - even to non-governments - for profiling than any drone flight ever will be. If the US government wants to know you and investigate you, no sophisticated drone flights are needed.

    Let everybody just calm down.

I feel like some of you are ready to take their scuds out of their garage and start shooting at evrything that moves.Too much hollywood anyone?

  • This is an interesting Op. Keep it up guys!
Ps. to the one who thinks I'm paranoid. Please read more history. As to my personal sentiments; they run with Chadwick. I'm not paranoid (I also don't want much TV) and I know big bro can monitor us with or without Drones. I simply think we must awaken from our naive slumber; basking in me-me paradise while expecting our oh-so powerful ruling entities to do what's best for us and take care of us. We really need to extent the next generations the same chance we've had at this freer-than-ever experience before we check out. That, my fellow rider, is being concerned -- not being paranoid.

When I wrote my cynical, hypothetical scenario about Drones controlling violent mobs with pepper-spray, I was just coming from the Op about how pepper spray was used on that violent mob at The Occupy scene. A scene that recently, actually happened but is now -- just one more historical fact.
Simply, my scenario merely stretched beyond "when good men do nothing". So when name-calling by one mass of another mass attempting to hold onto a bit o' freedom for all, well, I liken this reflex as something inevitable when blinders are kept on too snugly, cutting off circulation. ;)

Obviously, to catch cattle thieves...

And yes, I do think that some of you act and sound (not necessarily are; for I don't know you) paranoid. Shoot me. (All pun intended.)

    I haven't

If I do though, I'll be sure to give it the finger and possibly moon it...
