Having a healthy stud offensive line and playing a ton of bad QBs is a big recipe for success. Gotta give them credit to get this tram to the playoffs though (most likely).
other than Smith do any of our receivers have a prayer of making the catch McCleod made? What a play
Didn't see anyone mention - we made the playoffs!!! Never thought that would happen, although it isn't all that difficult nowadays.
Saturday Night vs. Dallas. Is there anything to play for? Minshew show?

Birds should play 3rd stringers this week right? Right.
They keep saving 2nd Eagles-Cowboys game for the last week and usually it doesn't mean anything. Go back to making the last week some odd inter-conference matchups.
BTW I'm really annoyed they keep telling us its' the "first" Week 18 ever - they had a Week 18 in 1993 when they stupidly had 2 bye weeks for each team.

So how is that we clinched a playoff spot and the 49ers haven’t.? They have the tie break over us and are currently seeded ahead of us. I’m confused. 😕

I think maybe the Saints hold the tie breaker over them but we hold the tie breaker over the Saints.

If it ends in a 3-way tie between Phi/SF/NO, first tiebreaker is conference record which Eagles right now are 7-4 other 2 teams are both 6-5, so if Philly & SF both lost, Philly & NO would have 7-5 conference records and SF would be 6-6 and therefore out.

1st tiebreaker is head-to-head amongst the 3 teams but 49ers didn't play Saints so that can't be used.

so the Eagles have made playoffs 4 out of the last 5 years. Only the Chiefs have made it all 5 years. Other teams to make it 4 out of 5 are the Saints, Patriots, Bills, Titans and Rams. Even if it's easier than ever to make it that's pretty good.
Overall, as much he's recently kind of annoyed me (getting involved with the day-to-day ops, etc), I saw some stat where the Birds have the highest winning percentage and most playoff appearances in the division since Lurie bought the team. I personally think since the one constant is the owner and they kind of steer the overall ship I've always been pretty happy with him above all other Philly team ownerships.

Sure you saw Wulf's article this morning too. We do need to give Howie credit for putting some foundational pieces together the last couple drafts, despite some egregious mistakes.

Agree - just look at some other franchises - the once proud (NYG, Team with no name) and the mostly always pathetic (Jets, Jaguars, Lions) - things could be much worse. Usually the only team in the division that gives us much trouble is Dallas - fairly even rivalry for a while now.

I have not, but will have to check it out. I wouldn't say I'm trying to be intransigent on this issue, because I also think Howie is the main reason we won a Super Bowl, but I also think the whole house needed to be cleared (Wentz/Doug/Howie) and I kinda wanted this team to fail badly so the finger would be pointed directly and solely at him. I know that's terrible to say. So I will eat my shit and say....oh god....that Howie will be the one constant along with Lurie going forward.

I could be wrong but at one point in the last few years they had the 2nd most playoffs wins in the league this century behind only the Patriots. Not sure if they have been passed on that. Also I believe every coach Lurie has hired has made the playoffs at least once.
Roseman's issue has been his top picks have sucked but he has done a nice job with lower picks. Getting a franchise left tackle in the 7th round is pretty amazing. I don't think he is great but as said above he could be a lot worse.
Really the only years this franchise hasn't been competitive this century are the two years the offensive line has been decimated by injuries. Reid's last year and last season.
For sure, I was making a more broad statement. He definitely needs to keep his hands out of the draft (of course he won't though). But his strengths outweigh his weaknesses. He's so good at identifying draft position and pick value, contracts, trades, and (I'm assuming) valuing of prioritizing the O & D lines and QB position.
