Carson Wentz first Eagles QB to throw for over 4,000 yards in a sseason. Pretty wild considering we had Cunningham and McNabb.

Seattle's gonna be tough, but they have a good shot since it's a home game and like F me said they are also banged up. Hopefully Lynch is still rusty.

some interesting Wentz stats care of Reuben Frank.
600 or more pass attempts with 7 or fewer interceptions in a season - Tom Brady (2015), Aaron Rodgers ((2016), Matt Ryan (2018), Carson Wentz (2019)

List of QBs in NFL history to throw 20 or more TDs and 7 or fewer INTs in 3 straight seasons:
    Carson Wentz only

few other interesting stats i saw on Twitter last night.  Only 2 teams have made the playoffs more than the Eagles since 2000 (NE and I believe it was Indy). and since 1988 the Eagles have made the playoffs 19 out of 32 seasons which only 2 other teams have surpassed.

Brooks out, Johnson and Ertz possible for next week.  Eagles open as 1 point favorite.  love the late Sunday game. should be fun.

Only team to throw for 4k and not have a 500 yard receiver.  Nutso stat.

500 yard WIDE receiver. Ertz, Goeddart and Sanders all  were over 500 yards receiving.  still crazy

Yeah but if a guy like Jameis Winston can lead the league in yards passing (5,100), I think that tells you something about that stat in today's NFL. Comparing passing yards with other eras is pretty much worthless at this point. Totally different game compared to 20 years ago.

Something clicked at halftime of that first Giants game for Doug and also Wentz. The play calling got better---balanced, more play action, more moving Wentz around out of the pocket. And Wentz stepped up and started putting balls where these guys could catch him. His accuracy was so much better over the last month. Obviously they were playing against lesser competition but he still got the job done. He's looking like the franchise qb we need him to be.

With the cap situation, it would HUGE if guys like Scott and Ward are able to be contributing players moving forward.

I think the Seahawks are overrated. We actually had a better point differential as all their games are close.

jeez you're hard to please. now he is looking like the franchise qb? dude has been the franchise QB for 4 years now big guy. was going to be MVP of the league in year 2 and he wasn't a franchise qb?  you must grade on one hell of a tough scale.

Ha. Are you his mom or something? There's no need to get your panties in a bunch whenever someone looks at Wentz objectively.

He was given a record breaking contract this spring and was essentially mediocre until turning it on an putting this team on his shoulders over the last month. That's a pretty accurate statement. He deserves a ton of credit. And that is what he's paid to do. I guess I hold him to a higher standard than you.

But anyway, finally making it through a season healthy and playing in his first playoff game will be huge for him moving forward. I can't wait for Sunday.

I just don’t understand the negativity.  There is maybe two teams with a young quarterback who had been as good as wentz (and as great as Jackson has been this year I still think he is a short term phenomenon). Mahomes and maybe Goff too although I think wentz is better than Goff.  So essentially about 27 or 28 other teams would kill to have him moving forward but some around this town still question him? Absurd.  And it’s not calling you out personally but just some of the general noise that is out there about wentz.  Embrace him man because as long as he is healthy this team will be a contender for the playoffs year in and year out.

The negativity? You're confusing a rational opinion of the guy as being negative. I'm not going to blindly accept him as being great just because we all want him to be. No, I recognize the enormous amount we paid to get him and that we gave him the most guaranteed money in the history of the NFL (at the time). Those things, fairly or unfairly to Wentz, instantly means he is held to a higher standard. I just want him to get to the standard consistently.
He was great for 13 games in '17...then he got hurt. He was pretty good last year...then he got hurt. This year after getting the contract he was mediocre by just about every measure you can find up until the last month or so. Level of competition was poor but the dude balled and put this team on his shoulders and I am recognizing that. That's not being negative. It's being rational and just wanting this guy to live up to his lofty expectations.

And 2 guys? I count quite a bit more than 2 guys in his age range well above him here. He should be top 5-ish year in year out moving forward for what he's being paid. And, by the way, I think he can be that guy---which is why I sometimes seem tough on him. Playoff experience will be huge for him, as the guys you mentioned have all been there already:

Wait you don’t think he’s great?

Regardless of stats do you seriously think there are more than two guys in his age range better than him? I’d luv to hear your list if so.

If using stats his first four years are as good as almost any qb in history. But he’s not great? Huh?

I think that’s a pretty sure bet. you don’t not play for 2.5 years and just come right back to it. it was a desperation/schmaltzy move by Pete.

even with no RBs,tho, I think the seabags are a much better team.

Playoff experience will be huge for him, as the guys you mentioned have all been there already:
    https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2019/passing.htm

Wait you don’t think he’s great?

Regardless of stats do you seriously think there are more than two guys in his age range better than him? I’d luv to hear your list if so.

If using stats his first four years are as good as almost any qb in history. But he’s not great? Huh?

Great? What? Yeah not yet. Certainly has that potential and he’s being paid like one so he has to be.  But I don’t think I’d ever call a qb great who’s never won, let alone played in a playoff game. I think he is really good and has shown flashes of being great. But he needs to do it consistently to be considered a great quarterback. You’ve probably thought he was great since the moment they drafted him. Haha

He certainly has a chance to be as good as the guys you’re probably thinking about. Again, those guys have been more consistent and have already produced in the playoffs. Wentz is a little behind schedule but he’s getting there, dude. Give it time..

agree with you here.  Carson has to secure the ball when the right side of the line gets beat.  i like the Eagles with a big defensive stop late.  say 23-20.

Defense needs to step it up a tad with Wentz out now. Hopefully a INT or turnover). Hope Wentz returns.

If he's not back yet I don't know how they let him back in.  (If they say he was concussed I think he is automatically out for the game)
Hoping he does return.  Good balance on O so far.
