No, it is a smart move. He gives back the 2mm and they get to deal, right? Why should they get nothing for an aset?
I hear you but they don’t win a super bowl or go on a run this year without him since Carson got his annual period. Just kinda feel like they should let him do him and go where he wants. It’s a business. I get it.
By franchising him they control his salary and where he goes, no? I could be wrong. I know nothing about nfl finances

It's a business. My understanding is that they have paid out when they didn't have to....he will understand. And...get a new team and the chance to lead.
Tis a business. Someone else might have paid him more though, no?
If he gets tagged, its for one year and at about $24 million (was $23,2 last year).
The team that trades for him will most likely sign him to a longer term deal, you're not trading for one year of him, so he'll likely get same money he'd get as a UFA, Eagles will get a draft pick back and probably keep him out of DC as well. (Where I think he'd end up if he was a free agent).

Like I said, I know nothing about football money. If this was best case scenario all the way around, why hasn’t it been a foregone conclusion? Or has it?

You couldn't beat the Eagles so you beat an inferior Rams team. We'll allow this one. Congrats. Enjoy the parade!
I didn’t play. I’m way too old and decrepit. Enjoy last year’s, singular, for the next 53 years. I’ll enjoy number six all year until opening day, why thank you.
Oh. The final score from that time we played them would suggest otherwise.
Werevthe eagles in the super bowl this year?
I think you're confused. We're talking about the inferior Rams team the Patriots beat two days ago in the Super Bowl. You said they bested my team when in fact the Eagles beat them a couple months ago, with their back up quarterback. You remember Nick Foles, don't you?

This move was pretty much expected. Win win.

Remember a year ago when you spammed every thread on the board with the Eagles logo?
Seems like a long time ago now.
