Did you see what they did to the plane tickets? Holy shit! 1,000+ for what is usually a $300 flight. I shut the old lady down...she started rationalizing and I just had to say no...not even paying to send her with a friend so only costing me half.
When I went it was held in New Orleans and I flew in/out of Lafayette, where a buddy lived. My buddy from SF met us there and we drove the 2 hours to New Orleans. We stayed at a sick condo that his mother owned. Flight and Rooms totaled less than $500, which is why the $2000 ticket was tolerable. Plus, it was New Orleans...one of the most awesome (ly disgusting) cities in the US and lots of fun. Here, you pay more for a ticket, more for a flight, plus hotel craziness...to go to MN? Nfw.
yeah i'd rather watch the game in philly somewhere like xfinity live or something like that. They should open the Linc or Citizens Bank Park or Wells Fargo Center and have peopel watch it in there.
If When they do win I'm guessing the parade would be on Tuesday? I wonder how many people will be there? More than the Phillies parade 10 years ago? I would be tempted to go but not sure. I went to the Phillies one which was a blast, but eagles are a different crowd, we'll see.

NFL doesn't allow mass viewing parties like the other leagues.
Can you imagine if the Eagles had kept Chase Daniel as their backup and not signed Foles last March?
Despite coaching turnover, prioritizing the back up qb position has always been something this franchise has valued going way back to the early Reid days and I've always respected it. It helped them lock up a 1 seed in '02, helped them make the playoffs and win a playoff game in '06 and of course now.

Well done, Howie.
I said this when Wentz got hurt, Foles is probably better than about 9 to 12 guys who started NFL games this season.

I don't know how he can ever play any better than he did Sunday. Imagine if Philly's d didn't shut down Crap Keenum and the game was back and forth? He would be getting more props for playing nearly a perfect game.
Still blows my mind. If I were an Eagles fanatic I would name my next dog Foles.

QBs in the playoffs Brady, Mariotta, Smith, Taylor, Bortles, Rothlisberger Keenum, Ryan, Newton, Brees, Goff.
I'd say he's better than Keenum, Taylor, Bortles for sure.

I would definitely not want to watch this at Xfinity Live. We're 60/40 right now not taking the road trip out, but it's very very close in switching. My pops just bought a new camper and we can't find a better reason to use it. Only thing holding us back is that whole minimum $5k on a ticket thing, and I'm not going if I'm not guaranteed to go to the game. The only reasonable gamble is to wait outside the stadium until kickoff and hope for a vastly discounted ticket in the $1500 range. I don't think I can justify more than $2k, at most, on a ticket to go along with a potential loss and hungover ride from shitty Minneapolis to back home.
The parade is usually on a Tuesday because parades are two days after the winning game, barring some kind of inclement weather.
The parade in 2008 was fucking massive, and I don't think I'll have the same feeling I had for that one because that was my first (AND ONLY!) one and that'll always hold a special place, but all that said - this will be bigger than that. Football is just a bigger sport, and black people for the most part don't like baseball (with good reason), and that's just me being honest. This city will most likely self-combust and create a black hole.

Not your next kid? Sheesh.
Don't hate, H2TM. Gotta give the guy props for that amazing game. He looked like your boy Tommy Brady on his best day. It was that impressive. Obviously his career could not fill the left shoe of Tom Brady...just being honest about what we saw on Sunday.
*edit -- if it makes you feel better, Fax, he looked like my boy Joe Montana on his best day on Sunday as well.

I think you hot the nail on the head re:how big this celebration would be. Everybody who likes sports in the area seems to like football. Baseball...Hoops...Hockey....huge segments do not give 2 shits about those sports.
Our 3 year old is a Birds fan, like his momma, and he keeps asking Alexa to play 'Fly, Eagles, Fly' and laughing when The Eagles station from amazon music is played.
His Montessori school is meant to be visited by a news crew today while they all dress in eagles gear and sing that annoying (to a non Eagle fan) fight song. A small piece of how Eagles crazy even the burbs are at this point.

Almost was! Driving through the middle of bumblefuck PA/Ohio/Illinois/Wisconsin/Minnesota(EDIT: can't forget that amazing state of Indiana!)? Hollllly fuck. I know I'll be set back at least four decades.
Like I said - if I can guarantee myself tickets under the circumstances I laid out then I'm there. But the risk is too high of not happening I'd say. So, yes, I'll most likely be at my house or my buddy's - either a block off of Broad Street. BTW, if anyone needs to use a pisser and/or will need a beer stop during the parade feel free to stop by.
My boss already assumes he's losing his entire team for at least 2 days, maybe the week - we might show him mercy and "work" from home.

My issue is how much family? My inlaws want to come over. I've never watched a game with half of them. I need to be able to bolt to the bathroom, get a beer and be back in my seat during commercials. Too many people may get in my way but its family so it would be nice to be with more people.
Alright, alright, alright!

My, god, fucking THIS - friend's house is bigger so most likely we're going there. But it's all good friends - you could say family; doing stupid shit together for at least the last 15-20 years. Now, my dad (which also means my mom, and then in part means my aunt) wants to know if we'll be strutting on Broad Street together. And I'm not one to turn down watching the game with the pops and taking this all in properly. But it's getting out of control of who else, out of obligation, need to be invited just by asking my dad to come down.
And another buddy, who is going to the same party, is getting the guilt trip from his mom being there. Only so many people fit in a South Philly row home!

I'm having to watch it with my brother's in laws as well as my parents and none of my friends will be there. It's gonna be weird.

My in-laws come over typically. I wear my beer horn and cook up a shitton of stuff before and get drunk. I sit right in front of the big screen and tune them out. If it gets too bad I can go down to my den and leave them all upstairs.

I sat right in the middle of a big block of CBS tickets, so we were some of the only fools wearing 49ers jerseys. It was still fucking awesome, and we lost. It is a bucket list type of thing...along with Stanley Cup Finals (done), College Final (done), World Series (done, but not with my team....if the goddamn Reds ever make it again in my lifetime I am there)

Guys it’s flu season, easy excuse! Sorry, can’t make it/can’t have anyone over because I caught the flu. Then if your family/friends/loved ones see you on YouTube climbing a Crisco covered telephone pole, waving your green and white painted dick around, just tell them it must have been a 24 hour bug and it passed just in time for the post-victory celebration. Amateurs!
I’m pulling for the eagles, but jim schwatz is an asshole. my BIL nicknamed him smugfuck when he coached the lions.
If I had known then what I know now...

Yeah, he is the only downside to rooting for the eagles. The entire lions team acted like assholes when he was the coach. I always thought Stafford was a dick but ever since JS left he’s seems much nicer.
Still want the Eagles to win really really bad though. I would kill to walk the streets of Philly the night they win the super bowl. Would have to be an amazing environment.

I didn't want to jinx anything, but fuck it. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen and I eat shit. But.....if it does....holy fuck lookout.

If When they do win I'm guessing the parade would be on Tuesday? I wonder how many people will be there? More than the Phillies parade 10 years ago? I would be tempted to go but not sure. I went to the Phillies one which was a blast, but eagles are a different crowd, we'll see.

Imagine if Philly's d didn't shut down Crap Keenum and the game was back and forth? He would be getting more props for playing nearly a perfect game.
Still blows my mind. If I were an Eagles fanatic I would name my next dog Foles.
Brady, Mariotta, Smith, Taylor, Bortles, Rothlisberger
Keenum, Ryan, Newton, Brees, Goff.

Obviously his career could not fill the left shoe of Tom Brady...just being honest about what we saw on Sunday.
*edit -- if it makes you feel better, Fax, he looked like my boy Joe Montana on his best day on Sunday as well.
Alcohol makes everything enjoyable. Plus, I get to visit all those toothless fucks in Trump Country!
Well at least Minnesota is not Trump country...
I just picture the Super Bowl being too much of a corporate type atmosphere to enjoy the game the way I'd like. I'd rather be with friends and family and party in the streets after
Putting in for pto now just to be safe. Only good thing about being laid off in '08 was not having to worry about this stuff.
"Even the burbs?" Ha...dude...this is the Delaware Valley, fella.
My nephew is 2 and my brother in law taught him the e-a-g-l-e-s and go-birds chants....coolest thing ever. Love getting those texts

And another buddy, who is going to the same party, is getting the guilt trip from his mom being there. Only so many people fit in a South Philly row home!
WHERE DOES IT END!?
I sat right in the middle of a big block of CBS tickets, so we were some of the only fools wearing 49ers jerseys. It was still fucking awesome, and we lost. It is a bucket list type of thing...along with Stanley Cup Finals (done), College Final (done), World Series (done, but not with my team....if the goddamn Reds ever make it again in my lifetime I am there)
That's brutal. Adulting's the worst.
