Yeah it's the same song anywhere. Basically, the Cowboys and Steelers were dynasties when our parents were growing up and a lot of those dummies are frauds, while the home team was complete trash. And since that generation of boomers is a huge demo we've had to hear wayyy too much about them.

Sports imo are an exercise in civic pride.
you wouldn’t know anything about “dynasties.”

sixers were strong, once upon a time.
Is this like when people say, "act like you've been there before" or something?

This was a really good pod this week, I recommend starting off around the 45, 49 minute mark. As much as I'm excited about the future and the possibilities, Sheil kinda confirms my overall feeling of this org/team is, and has been over the last ~5ish years, lucky to be even mediocre. They should be thanking Washington and New York for being in this division. And all I've really wanted is all the attention directed squarely at Howie. I figure he's got a leash of at least 2, 3 seasons.

JP I do my best to let Giants fans know how happy I am their dumb team is in our division every chance I get. lol

Did these guys spend the first fifteen to twenty minutes talking about anything other than the Eagles as usual? I love their football insights but their banter is not worthy of how much time they devote to it. Always finding myself fast forwarding. The Rights to Ricky, on the other hand, I can listen to those two talk about anything.

Probably more than 15-20 minutes. Haha, really? That's what I look forward to more than anything. I'm more of a fan of this pod - probably my favorite, goddamn I have so many, and they're always changing, along with WTF, Bad Friends, 2 Bears 1 Cave - because they (Bo) bullshit so much.

Yeah, I've been listening to that here and there. Weird thing is I've gotten more into the video pods that are on YouTube while working, so haven't listened it as much lately. Though I think they went to a video format recently? Yeah, I like it. What I got out of that one so far is the vibe that Glen kinda sucks, but is perfect for the Dennis role. Kinda like Jason Alexander in real life as opposed to being George.

I have seen on Twitter there are some videos of them doing the podcast. I can't listen to podcasts during the work, so it's usually walking the dog, going for walks, etc. so no video for me

I don't mind Glen, though yeah, super neurotic.  I do get the sense that their characters really are just extremely exaggerated versions of themselves, which I dig.

How many pods do you guys listen to a week?

There's so many of them and they're all pretty lengthy that I just don't have time. I subscribe to a bunch but only listen to a couple, at that, a week. Used to listen on my way into work but the commute is only 15 seconds now so that time is out the window.

So if I throw a pod on while I'm on my rowing machine or something for a half hour, I usually wanna get to the meat and potatoes and skip over the other shit.

My job is a lot of Excel work so if I was at work I'd have ear buds in a lot. But been working at home for the most part since March 2020 so of my three monitors I have one of them dedicated to bullshit haha. So I always have something playing in the background to keep me sane. The podcast consumption has probably increased, if anything. And right there with ya - I'm subscribed to more pods than I can count, honestly. But there's usually a rotation, and certain ones come in and out of that.

Right now it's mostly Bad Friends, Birds with Friends, 2 Bears 1 Cave, Your Mom's House, WTF. The YouTube usage has skyrocketed since being home.

So should we try to get Russell Wilson? This whole Stafford thing worked out alright for the Rams. Hurts and 2 1st rounders should do it right?

I don't understand the people who don't want to even attempt this move. A lot of those people are under the assumption he had some horrible season or something. That's not the case. It was down a down year for sure, but the injury played a factor and he's still a top 10 qb by just about any metric.

Get him and we'd have one of the best qb's, o line's, and rushing attack in the conference for the next few years. They can restructure his contract to move a lot of his money to bonus so it wouldn't hurt the cap situation much either. And they'd still have room under the cap/draft chips to address defense and receiver.

I think I'd be ok with the move if it moved the needle substantially. And I don't think it does. And if it does I think it moves the needle for at best (being conservative here), 2 seasons. I don't think that's worth giving up a lot. I mean if they get some kind of relative bargain sure, but I need a vision beyond the next 2 seasons. The defense doesn't look promising, and Sirianni still hasn't proved his scheme can work. I'm optimistic about picks and getting younger, and not just plugging a hole.

I mean, if you can get one of the few elite QB's of the NFC, you've got a top flight O-line, TE and a couple promising WR's. Secondary is decent, I think the D can get beefed up a little bit. To me NFL is a year-by-year thing. It's not an NBA "Process" where you keep taking shots with your superstars. So yeah, I'd like to go for it. If you don't think your coaches' schemes are gonna work then get new coaches.
