I can not believe this has happened. Do we really need and extra One Billion dollars annually added to the cost of running this country. What balls this President has! I would like to see everyone refuse the pay raise. Are they seriously trying to collapse the economy?

Are they seriously trying to collapse the economy?[/quote] Sure looks like it, dont it? I would go do what they do for 60k per year!

  Constitutional Ammendment calling for pay raise according to results and performance

You know, like we all have to. If they balance the budget they get a raise! If they pass healthcare, they get the same health care. Since when did the whole idea of serving change? They should be thankful to be there. They need to lead by example and take a pay cut!

As of March 27, 2013, federal employees will see a half-percent to one percent pay increase, marking the end of a pay freeze that has been in place since late 2010. Congress hasn't seen a pay raise since 2009.

So the hard working federal employees should continue to get fucked while the people we and YOU voted into office fuck the country over? Glad you're not my boss.

Well, we could stop the war for about 32 minutes. That would pay for it for the next 6 years.

    Just a suggestion.

Or you could maybe power your phony indignation machine with solar?

I think the group that allows themselves to legally engage in insider trading don't need a raise.

Maybe they could also stop defending the DOMA?

See, The "defense of marriage act," as it's stupidly named, has never won a single legal challenge.

But the Republican-led Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group has already spent $1.7 million paying outside legal counsel to intervene in 14 federal challenges. And they now plan to keep pouring money down that well.

So maybe you could get upset about THAT too?

Interesting... a job that used to be seen as a second job has become a way to make a lot of money and a career.

I'm with you on this. It is very strange and makes me very uncomfortable. In 2010, Barney Frank paid almost half a million dollars of his own money to get reelected to his house seat and its salary of roughly $225,000. Why would anyone do that?

Now news breaks today that he has actually asked to be appointed to John Kerry's Senate seat should he be confirmed as Secretary of State. Can he collect a double-dip congressional pension? I don't like to think the worst but in this case I do.

I'm not sure... I would think not, but I really don't know.

    Somebody must know
  • What a joke Barney Frank is one of the most corrupt politicians in history. He should be rotting away in jail not seeking another office.

Oh please. according to conservatives EVERY liberal is "the most corrupt politician in history."

they don't really worry about the felon currently working as Governor in Florida.

The Governor in Florida was not personally charged with a felon it was the company he ran...I am a conservative ( moderate ) and I think 95% of politicians are corrupt.

I am a left-leaning moderate living in Frank's old district and I do question some of his conduct the last few years.

I would like to hear some of the names that make up your other 5%. Not trying to trap or bait you, I am genuinely curious.
