Interesting statistic: A human needs approximately the same energy to live on per day as keeping a 100 watt light bulb running 24/7. Turn off one 100 watt light bulb that runs all day (or the equivalent amount of energy) and a dying person in a third world country gets enough energy to survive. The average American uses 100 times that much energy per day. Food for thought, fellow 10,000 watt light bulb.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.” Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

WAY too controversial!
tbh brian i dont think me turning off an 100watt lightbulb is gonna save anyone in a third world country. why do i think this? cause its not gonna provide them with anymore food or medical assistance.. is it gonna raise their living conditions? oh and who uses 100 watt lightbulbs in their house anyway.. 60 watt not bright enough for you all??? personally i use 11 watt energy efficient bulbs that provide the equivalent of 40 watts... but thats only cause i often like to sit in darkness so i can watch.....
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say
Also, how can we transport that energy from here to there? I would love to perfect that vessel!
However, If Al Gore would turn his lights out, we might not go over the fiscal cliff! I do know that.
