Nobody has anything to add? Isn't it sad that the only bills that they can agree on have to do with the removal of rights?
  • unsung; don't know why nobody has anything to say here but since you made the effort to post this, I'll take a stab at it.
    1) I did read this but I'm skeptical as to most votes went that way? Is there something we are missing?
    2) It comes at a time of year when our gut has been filled with ick and we can't take on more right now.
    3) we have to believe there are decent cops & lawyers who are making sure the probable cause for detainment is warranted. Nobody wants to see another 9/11 happen because we let ilk go about their lives right under our noses, taking flight lessons etc...plotting

My advice: wait till after the new year, then arm yourself with a more in-depth, easy-to-follow pro & con argument.

I disagreed with George Bush's take away of freedom's for the apparent increase of safety to American's after 9/11..... I disagree with anything that takes away our rights because it's suppose to make us safer unless it actually makes us safer (i.e more gun laws, seat belts etc).
I'm just flying around the other side of the world to say I love you

Sha la la la i'm in love with a jersey girl

I love you forever and forever :)

Rand Paul and a few other Senators fought to amend this so that a citizen could not be detained indefinitely and held without charges or trial. This is the heart of the 4th and 5th amendments in the Bill of Rights. John McCain and Lindsay Graham fought to have the language re-inserted so that an American citizen can be thrown into Guantanamo and essentially left to rot.

This is why the entire Bill of Rights is important, despite what the left thinks of the 2nd, and why it should be treasonous to vote for this bill.

The actual arrest of a US citizen and never charge that person with a crime is unfathomable but it is a reality with this Congress and this Obama administration. Obama has a chance to do the right thing and veto the language out. Will he? I doubt it considering he signed 2012 NDAA into law and then sued to keep the language in after a judge put an injunction on it.
