I wonder how many "famous" rock stars, actors, etc who speak out against guns and how "bad" they are have hired security and body guards who carry concealed weapons. My guess...all of them.

What does this have to do with anything?
Also... I KNOW some people in music... they don't ALL have gun wielding body guards.
    ...
Now... RAP... that's a different story. But, if you were a Rap star... wouldn't you do the same?

I just view it as hypocritical. Guy gets on stage and preaches about guns....leaves stage and hides behind his bodyguards carrying a concealed gun.
  • Great fcuking tune...

And the lyrics aint too bad either:

"Hey I'd like to daze away to a place no one has known
In a state of mind I could call mine, that only I could own
Where I could hum a tune anytime I choose,
and then there is no such thing as time
Where I feel no pain just calm and sane
What a place for one to find"
Give a monkey a brain and he'll swear he's the center of the Universe...

Who are you taling about? You said, ALL. I'm saying, not all.
Trent Reznor... yeah, okay, I'll buy that one. But, you know he has some crazy fucking German girl that pops up all over the globe, right? She writes crazy shit about killing him on stage and commiting suicide so their blood will co mingle and they will live together in history for all eternity, right? I can see that.
But, guys like Dave Grohl, John Doe, Taylor Hakins, Josh Homme... they are out and about the city like regular folks... not paranoid psychos with 24/7 armed guards around. Even at concerts... i see the standard yellow jackets manning security detail... no guns.
    ...
Try again... next time, with something meaningful.

Well, I saw Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and it made it look like everybody in Britain was packing. Was that not representative of British culture? ;)

Your analogies and ways to justify things regarding guns get more and more creative everyday.

I work in an arena and see a ton of major acts come through. I can count on one hand in 10 years that I've seen or heard about armed private security. I've seen a few acts request a police detail, but that's it (other than usual event security).

Let me know when one of em just starts popping caps at random people because his ridlin or other mood altering drug is hitting him the wrong way and then a stated thread like the one you have started would be appropriate.

So, do you have any examples to back up your asinine accusation, or did you just want to try to stir the pot like usual?

But to speak out about guns and then hide behind them personally? That's the hypocrisy.

Dude you could start a million threads using that logic. Hell why stand on stage and tell arenas that the two parties suck and then go and vote for one of them. I stand by what I said.

Ok, which anti gun artists have armed bodyguards? If you started this thread and guess "all of them", it shouldn't be that hard to come up with a few. Unless of course you are just talking out of your ass to stir the pot..

Impressive list... Sounds like all of them.
And why the hell would Rosie Odonnell need a body guard?

A legally acquired handgun in the hands of a trained professional isn't the same as someone claiming they need an assault rifle designed for war to protect their home.
