Put this on for the first time in more than two years and forgot how brilliant, fantastic, and great this album is! It is Clapton's finest work. Through his heroin use and unrequited love for Patti Boyd, he creates this masterpiece. Thankfully, he quit his heroin use, married Patti (then divorced her), and still managed to stay best friends with George. Glad to also know that he is clean today and continues to amaze us at his playing. Also can't forget to mention Skydog's brilliant playing.

No matter when or where I hear "Layla" the song, I always think of "Goodfellas."

This album could be on repeat for a few times.

    I have just today asked my Dad if I can borrow his Eric Clapton CDs after watching him play at 12.12.12 & remembering how FAB he is!! I grew u listening to him, his was one of the CDs I'd beg Dad to put on in the car when we were travelling. I can't wait to hear the albums again!! What's the bet, even 20 or so years after hearing them I'll still remember what song comes next on the album. :)

    I decided to bestow GOD status on Clapton after seeing him at 12.12.12. Amazing.

    Great song and great riff, but we shouldn't be calling Clapton God for it. Skydog came up with the riff and carried the outro.

    "WE" aren't calling him GOD. I am. You can refer to him however you wish. :mrgreen:

    Great album but my fav is Derek & the Dominoes and fav all time Clapton song is Let it Rain it's pure Magic ..

    Clapton is a legend. Love the live MSG album he did with Steve Winwood.

    I'm calling Clapton God for this album and all the music he's given us for almost 50 years.

    Ok, 3 albums kindly handed over to me by my Dad today with firm words - the are to be returned!! Now to find time to listen, oh that's right, I'm on holiday next week & the week after!! WEEHEEEE!!! Music listening time!! :D
