A couple of years ago, I loved lying stoned on a water bed watching BBC cooking shows on a beamer. Especially a show by a guy named Gary Rhodes seemed like food porn to me. They showed close ups of frying pans and gravy, butter or chocolate sauce dripping of stuff and accompanied it all with soft electronic sounds... I was so intrigued and fascinated that I even thought about writing a doctoral thesis about the evolution of tv cooking shows
Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!
This is the Food Porn equivalent of a Shannon Tweed movie.
It seems I don't watch enough adult movies to understand what you mean. :fp:
I am going to take it that you love broccoli too.
Shannon Tweed is Gene Simmons' wife. Back in the early to mid 90's (maybe beyond) she would be on either HBO/Cinemax/The Movie Channel or other pay-cable channel nightly in one of the films from her seemingly endless filmography of softcore movies. It's not really porn, it's about 88 minutes of bad movie with 2 minutes of side boob. But when I was 12, it was porn.
"See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"
I'm at work so can't post a picture properly so just gave an overdose of pavlova porn!!
I will miss this at Christmas this year, not being in Australia
I am not willing to bake it either :P
What does it consist of? It looks delish
I has a meringue-type base, which is then covered with fresh whipped cream and fresh fruit with a sweet-fruit-based-compote-like sauce is sometimes drizzled over the fruit.
(This meringue - when cooked well - has a crunchy outer shell and gooey marshmellow-like centre. It is sweet and delicious.)

Well said. Meringue. crunchy outside gooey & marshmallowee inside with cream & fresh fruit - strawberry, kiwifruit & passionfruit ideally to me. It's like 10 egg whites, a huge amount of sugar, a teaspoon of white vinegar & 1/2 a teaspoon of cornflour or something I think, off the top of my head. It is at least 10 years since I've actually made one however so don't trust that.
Meanwhile, Jodie we're being very civil about a pavlova conversation!! One of the biggest things about pavs, if you bring them up with any Ausi or kiwi is we fight over who 'invented' it!! It's supposedly named after the ballerina Anna Pavlova puffy white ballerina skirt.
Anyway, I digress... back to the food porn folks.

Wasn't made as a thank you for Anna after she did a tour of Australia?

I make that exact thing, except here I call it Strawberry (or whatever fruit you prefer) on a cloud. And by golly it's a slice of heaven. Needless to say, it doesn't last long in my house.

Now I want to make another pan of it.
I just made cannoli shells last night. And the cannoli filling is tonight.
I love being able to make such amazing healthy food porn at home.
