Patch question

First off, Plz excuse my ignorance, I haven't even held a patch in 35 yrs! :oops:

I just got the 10c renewal goodie bag & there is a patch included in there. It has some sort of film on the back. Do I peel that off & just stick it on, Or is that some sort of adhesive that activates when you put an iron to it?

also, are all 10c patches like this one?

    Hey...it is a laminate of a sort to hold all the stitching in place & to keep it from fraying. I cannot say for sure that it is also an iron-on substance....
