I had a great year for concerts, save for not getting to see my three favourite bands:

Wednesday, January 25, 2012 - Tool & Intronaut, Air Canada Centre
This was a great way to start my year. Tool was more spectacular than I remember from my previous show.

Thursday, March 01, 2012 - Young the Giant & Walk the Moon, Sound Academy
My buddy wanted to go. It was cheap, so I went with him, thinking it couldn't be that bad. I contemplated walking out.

Tuesday, March 27, 2012 - Andrew WK, Phoenix Concert Theatre
Same buddy, different show. I enjoyed them last time I saw 'em eight years ago. This time, not so much.

Saturday, April 07, 2012 - Heritage Hunter Tour: Opeth, Mastodon & Ghost, Sony Centre
Great, GREAT show. Maybe not Ghost, but Opeth and Mastodon sure brought their A-game. Sadly, this was my last metal show this year, but it did exhibit some of the best concert facial hair I've seen.

Thursday, April 26, 2012 - Supersuckers, Nashville Pussy & Bill Cosby Anarchist Society, Horseshoe Tavern
I got in for free, and was astounded at how good the Supersuckers really are. NP, too, was fun and a blast to watch.

Saturday, April 28, 2012 - Red Hot Chili Peppers & Sleigh Bells, Air Canada Centre
I didn't think I'd like RHCP live as much as I did. This made up for getting kicked out of their concert six years ago.

Thursday, May 10, 2012 - Big Wreck & Rikers, Danforth Music Hall
I'm so glad Big Wreck are back in business. They sounded like they hadn't missed a beat.

Tuesday, May 15, 2012 - Mark Lanegan, Sean Wheeler & Zander Schloss, Mod Club
    Wow. Simply, Wow.

Thursday, June 14, 2012 - Bad Religion, Good Riddance & No Use For A Name, Yonge-Dundas Square
Free show, as part of the NxNE series. Bad Religion are everything I expected them to be.

Friday, August 17, 2012 - Grace Potter & the Noctournals, Phoenix Concert Theatre
    Can't go wrong with GP&N.

Sunday, September 16, 2012 - Glen Hansard & Tony Dekker, Danforth Music Hall
Sitting second row, I had such an amazing view. The sound was incredible, and I had a blast.

Saturday, September 29, 2012 - Ben Harper, Massey Hall
My favourite concert of the year, and my first seated show sitting front row. Ben is at the top of his game right now. Unfortunately the set got cut short due to a venue curfew, but that just means I'll have to see him again soon.

Wednesday, October 03, 2012 - The Afghan Whigs, Phoenix Concert Theatre
My first time seeing these guys, and they really rocked.

Tuesday, October 16, 2012 - Rush, Air Canada Centre
Last minute purchase resulted in me learning how much I love Clockwork Angels. It was my third time seeing Rush, and they never disappoint.

    Sunday, November 11, 2012 - RNDM & Gull, Lee's Palace
Richard Stuverad is a beast. Jeff Ament is Jeff Ament. Joseph Arthur is a genius.

Friday, November 16, 2012 - Soundgarden, Phoenix Concert Theatre
Soundgarden in a club? Fuck yeah. No JCP or Slaves & Bulldozers, but the new stuff sounded amazing.

Monday, November 19, 2012 - Neil Young & Crazy Horse & Los Lobos, Air Canada Centre
I thought SG cemented their place as my #2 show of the year until Neil and Co. decided to blow my mind with some of the best jamming I've ever heard.

Friday, November 23, 2012 - The Who, Air Canada Centre
I considered passing on this concert since I'm not the biggest Quadrophenia fan. What was I smoking? The Who were stellar as always.

Sunday, November 25, 2012 - The Gaslight Anthem & The Joy Formidable, Sound Academy
The Joy Formidable were great, and Gaslight cemented me as a fan. All in all, a great night. My buddy is forgiven for the two concerts earlier in the year since he convinced me to give TGA a chance.

And one still upcoming (I'm expecting epic things):
Tuesday, December 11, 2012 - Japandroids, Phoenix Concert Theatre

I kinda went concert crazy. 3 separate music related internships helped, plus spent all birthday/holiday money (the only thing I asked for on both occasions) on shows. Nothing makes me happier than a good show with good friends! :)

I kinda went concert crazy. 3 separate music related internships helped, plus spent all birthday/holiday money (the only thing I asked for on both occasions) on shows. Nothing makes me happier than a good show with good friends! :)
