I'm really tired of them, HONEST. Two reasons why I did not go to the solo ED...

1: "Alone"
2: this guy I'm breaking up with actually said " It's not like it's Kurt Cobain!"
(he is that lost?)
3. I'm afraid to go to the Flying Saucer in Houston

What is the deal? :(

I knew lots of non pearl jam fans out their ... I guess every one is entitled to their opinion. I would say the less pearl jam does in terms of making music and touring the less new fans they'll attract in the future and i'm sure many who are/were big fans could become more casual fans...

OK, this helped clarify a bit of what the thread is about.

(Alone? Then the Flying Saucer in Houston? I admit I was lost :P )

Anyway, yeah...why let others dictate your attendance or your happiness?

I just answered "I don't" and walked away.

I don't think I know of too many quality things that the majority of people (at least in this country) like....that is why there is "pop" music and american idol. In fact, I make an effort to stay far away from the herd and most of the time going against their current. I am proud of it and you should be to.

Look, this band and Ed require a lot of accumulated knowledge over 20+ years to have a true appreciation. Every now and then a person with some good intuition and appreciation for authenticity will get it and they will be hooked---but most ppl aren't built that way. Doing your homework with this band and Ed brings great rewards to those willing to put in the work.

I've spent 20+ years looking for one person that likes Pearl Jam as much as me. I've been un successful.
The latest friend thinks Kurt Cobain is genius, and worships Oasis. I went to Deluna fest last year thinking it would take my mind off of PJ20. Nope!, it did not. I'm so fortunate they came the next year, when I had no means to go. So I went to the "Taking Back Sunday" -Tell All Your Friends- reunion tour. It was great but still pales in comparison. This topic is overdone. I'm so sorry.

Well said...many people I know don't get it either. But you can always agree to disagree and keep on going with your heart and the music that you love! You can always "talk" with the community on this board because we do get it! Just went to see EV without my other half and I had the best time and met many cool people who appreciate him/them just as much as I do!

I went to the europe tour by myself, and came back having made many new friendships. There's never been a person living close by that cares about live music or fav bands as much as I do, so I just got used to going alone...don't let having no company stop you. You'll meet loads of fellow crazies along the way. Which is way better than dragging someone along who doesn't get it.

    I must be the minority.
My whole family are Pearl Jam fans. We all have a great respect and appreciation for this band.
Saying that I did do Europe this year by myself. But met some of the best people I have ever met!
