    I'll share...

    I am finishing up a teaching degree.. and a job came up.. One of the head lecturers was asked if she could recommend someone.. .and she recommended me... Out of 300 students in my cohort and she selected me....

    Doesn't mean I will get it. Because there will be other people going for the job, but they are keen for a graduate teacher.

    I don't know if it is the same elsewhere in the world.. but it is really hard getting permanent work in schools in NSW.

    I was just really excited to even be considered.. and apparently, I am on the radar at another school... so it's nice to be appreciated...

    as you know the nsw govt is fairly fucked up at the moment and especially with the cuts to education. it is beyond my comprehension that they think they can cut spending to education and expect to compete on any level. ive had a somewhat checkered history with attaining my teaching degree but for the past few months and even more so with the announcement of the 1.7 billion dollar cut to the nsw education budget ive been feeling that its time i made a concerted effort to return to tertiary studies. and lets face it.. id make a killer english/history teacher. ;)8-) but its just so disheartening that the state govt doesnt seem to value education as it should.

    Primary teacher Cate. I finish my degree in the middle of January :)

    Education cuts are a joke.. one area they shouldn't be cut from.
