Vedder and C Average regroup to open two $300-per-ticket benefit concerts for the Who in Chicago, playing much the same repertoire from their shows earlier in the summer ("Driven to Tears", "Love -> Building on Fire" and Pearl Jam songs like "Wishlist" and "Last Kiss"). Near the end of both shows, Vedder and company give a nod to the Who by tearing into "Leaving Here", a song that the group originally performed in the mid-1960s, when it was known as the High Numbers. At the second show, Vedder plays an acoustic guitar that Townshend used during the Tommy era that was purchased for him during an auction at the show the night before. "All my Christmases for the rest of my life are right here and I'm fine with that", Vedder says of the guitar. He and C Average also join the Who for "Let's See Action" during both shows.
