Can You Help In My Job Search?

I lost my job on October 24th. My company eliminated my position and me along with it. I left on good terms with a recommendation from my boss. All is well except for that small part where I now need a new job.
I have ten years of sales, business development and marketing management experience in the food industry. I've sold fresh chicken (all natural & organic), frozen turkey, pre-sliced deli meat and other fully cooked meat items to grocery retail, foodservice, convenience and co-pack sales channels. I also have four years of experience as a Salesforce.com Administrator. I'm looking for a position that likely has a title like Director of Sales, Business Development Manager, National Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Marketing Manager/Director, etc.
If you or your cousin's neighbor's great aunt knows of an opportunity that fits my background, please keep me in mind. I'm happy to send you my resume. I'm in Iowa City, IA and would ideally like to stay here but am open to relocating to: eastern IA, eastern MO, MN, WI, IL, MI, IN, OH, KY, TN and San Diego, CA.
I've had a couple of interviews so far but know that this community is awesome and thought I'd at least put this out there. You never know. Thank you in advance!

Fortunately for you, the ability to "sell" isn't necessarily limited to industry, so hopefully you can apply those skills of yours as you can.
Hang in there, and again, best of luck!
Having to put all your faith
In no faith
Georgia is not on your list of areas you'd like to relocate to but I'll get the word
out to peeps in WI and OH ... never know.
When we moved here from WI in 1991 JB sent resumes to all the printing companies around
here and in the Carolinas. He got lots of interviews so get the word out.
Good luck!
no need in relocating unless they be paying you killer. us iowans are a hard working lot. you'll be fine. you like what you do 100%? ever thought of doing something else? just curious is all. hy-vee food stores? what about getting a job at the university of iowa hospital & clinics in their food department there?

My ideal job would be to work for a craft brewery in sales/marketing, but I've found it incredibly tough to break into without the beverage/alcohol sales experience. I would absolutely kick ass doing it but inevitably there's a stack of other resumes with exactly the experience they want. That's why I'm here networking. All I ask is for a foot in the door and I can sell myself.
I'm very open to other industries or positions, but am focusing most of my energy with where my experience is as it's much easier to land a job and will pay where I need to be to support my family.
I'll look into UofI, Chadwick. Thanks for the idea. You never know.
PS - I will move to Seattle to work for Ten Club or PJ in any way, shape or form! Just putting that out there!

I am in the same exact situation as you my friend, keep your chin up. Make sure you utilize LinkedIn, hotjobs.com, usajobs.gov, brewingwork.com, indeed.com (etc) and keep up this type of networking.
If you don't have a "headhunter" make sure you check into that route.
Also, think of all the vendors you worked with in your last gig = let them know you're a free agent (if you haven't already)
I'm searching/networking daily so if anything pops up, I'll be sure to DM you immediately.
Best of luck - good things will happen for sure!
