Yeah, I think Phil Collins is fairly awesome myself. I wasn't surprised to see him up there.

I agree that it's horrible music (in my opinion), but I think that Nickelback actually thinks their music is good... or it's at least the very best they can do. I really think that some people this their music is really good! No accounting for taste, right? And since I think they actually believe that what they do is good, and that others feel the same, I don't understand the disdain. No one is forcing us to listen to it! And I don't care who he is - Chad must get upset about how badly he is torn apart. *shrug* I dunno... I don't hate him just because I can't stand his music and think it's shit. I think that would be mean-spirited of me.

my best guess is that Chad Kroeger cares about as much about all his haters as much as Ed cares about how many people think he's god.

at first CK may have been upset about it, but that's fame. If you take it seriously, good or bad, you are doing yourself a disservice. it's not real. it's a perceived notion of your personality based on nothing.

my opinion is Nickelback writes horrible music, but lots of people love it. we really shouldn't put ourselves on any pedestals saying that if you like Nickelback that must mean you don't care too much about music, that PJ fans are "real" music fans. There are people out there that LOVE them. Every riff and every word. Crazy fans just like PJ fans.

I don't get it just like most people don't get why I love PJ so much.

Yeah I agree with that - I try hard not to get stuck on how great my taste in music is (phenomenal!), and try very hard not to judge other people's tastes in music if they differ from mine. It's all about perception, and that can be so different in someone else that I can't even conceive where they are coming from!
But I still think it must bug CK. I mean, I doubt you do, but I watch TMZ (I think it's often hilarious), and you should see how badly they trash him on that show on a regular basis, and millions of people watch it. And I've heard many accounts of musicians who do indeed notice this kind of thing and are sincerely bothered by it. They are not necessarily immune.

Chad Kroeger is a genius if he's made so much money selling crap! I wonder how many of his haters have 30 mil in their bank accounts. I bet Chad is laughing at all of them all the way to the bank. Like him or not, these are the facts.
