I'm thankful for life, family, health, great food, great music, great friends and plenty of pumpkin pie liqueur. :D

Let's not forget Thanksgiving, because IT IS NOT CHRISTMASTIME YET.

What are YOU thankful for? :eh:

Last week, things could've taken a bad turn for us. It didn't, and for that I am thankful.

    I also give gratitude for...

...being able to buy the all the fixins for a kickass meal tomorrow
...having the love of my life to share it with
...being able to speak to my mom and sister tomorrow
...having had my father, AS my father
...being able to sleep in the next four days
...heat when we need it, same for AC
    ...no hospitals this year!
    ...two silly kitties
    ...having so much to appreciate

(I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me ;) )

    What a life.

Cheers to you, hedonist! Sounds like life's been challenging recently for ya -- here's to a happy and prosperous (in all its permutations) 2013!

Among many other things, I'm thankful for my family's health. Wife, mom, dad, wife's mom and dad, and dog, all doing well. :D

I am thankful for the health of my immediate family and that those who are sick in my extended family are still with us.
I am thankful for the troops that are out there away from their families this holiday on behalf of the USA, regardless of a person's individual feelings on war/politics, etc.
I am thankful for all that I have and certainly that I got to see Pearl Jam in concert again this year. [Last year I shared that at the table when we were all going around and I got some eye rolls and funny looks! ]

    Happy Holidays everyone.

Life and all the joys and sorrows, pains and gains.
Love for and from my family, friends and doggies.
    God in my heart
and Pearl Jam of course :D
I am, have been, incredibly fortunate in my life.

I'm thinking poor Halloween is the forgotten holiday.
Tradition lives on in the other three Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years
but why oh why are they trying to take Halloween from the children?
    It's so much fun!

    edit ...
ah ha! changed the thread title from Thanksgiving the forgotten holiday...
I agree though for some Thanksgiving and Christmas just go together
some like to combine and have the tree up, lights up, mantel done,
festive! :D JB holds me back though till after Thanksgiving is over

Thanks, and to you as well, sir!

F Me, good call on the troops; my little pissant "sacrifices" are nothing compared to theirs and those of their families.

I'm thankful for not getting shot by my neighbor who's out in his yard shooting rodents. (He is definitely closer than 50 feet away).

Thanks to those who are thankful as well in this thread. :)
  • I am thankful for being able to travel home and be with my family tomorrow. I am thankful to have one nephew that is the best, I am thankful to have all my family members still alive and parents still together. When I arrive home, it feels like home and the smell of apple and pumpkin pie will be in the air. I am thankful for all the opportunities that God has given me. His grace and mercy have supplemented me throughout life. I am thankful to be able to serve people so well here in Virginia. I am thankful for the people serving our country in all sectors all around the world. I am thankful for America's unique stance in this world and fulfilling its responsiblity, although imperfect, it remains very important. Our soldiers who cannot have a sit down dinner today, I will think of them. Anyone around the world who cannot have a dinner tomorrow, I will think of them. Maybe for just a few hours....we can have world peace. I am thankful for family and friends and all the good days ahead.

    Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

Cornbread's in the oven for stuffing (my first time making it from scratch and it could go terribly wrong, but who cares...this is so fun)

My babe is wrapped up in his birthday present - got him the softest, comfiest robe ever - and we're enjoying a stressfree day of cooking (me only :P ) and just chilling and CANNOT wait for that amazing melange of scents once all the fixins start coming together.

Hope those observing/celebrating (or not) are having a wonderful one.

I'm thankful I'm alive I crashed my truck when I dosed off couple of days ago coming home from work. Recovering now,

I'm thankful to be cooking the turkey this Sunday but NOT eating it.

A friend asked why I wasn't shopping for a tv for Black Friday? I said why the hell would I want to do that when I already have I don't know 12 Tv s in my house already...at times I can't stand those things

I'm just thankful to be home resting.

    12 tv's? We've got one - and it's not even a big-screen! - yet :P

Good to know you're OK...take it easy this weekend, man!

I'm truly thankful that g under p is OK! It could have been much worse: falling asleep at the wheel is what caused the accident I was in.

As far as TVs go, they're totally overrated...

Besides being thankful for all that I have, being alive, and enjoying what I do, I'm thankful for Pearl Jam for making great music, for the good folks who make this forum possible and for all you folks here, whether we agree on everything or not, for making this a great place share ideas, look for help, give support, or just fart around and have fun with.

    Thank you all!

And thank you, Brian! Your posts on the environment have been nothing but helpful in my growth into an adult in a never ending quest for knowledge.

I'm ok just sore and very lucky. Another 4 feet and I would dropped 14 feet into a canal instead I crashed through some construction signs and road hazard materials. I have swollen ankle, strained shoulder and an unknown damage to my hand.

It could have been so much worse, I have to have some coffee after I leave work.

I'm thankful for my wonderful husband and two awesome kids. I'm also thankful for a job that I usually love. I am thankful that my brother has finally found happiness and that I have an amazing niece. I am thankful that both my parents are still here especially after the loss of a father in law whom I loved dearly. I am also thankful for music (especially PJ and EV solo was pretty cool too!) and that I can hang out on these forums with you fine folks. Hope everyone had a wonderful day and maybe we can resurrect this thread on occasion so we can have some positivity - thanks Jeanwah for starting it :)
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

I hope everyone had a nice turkey day and safe travels!
