I was the one with the CARDBOARD "BREAKERFALL" sign!! (Fanview and trip details!!)

Ok just to start it off. At the 2nd Gorge show I made a sign with white paper and black marker that said "BREAKERFALL"...security threw it out. I went to a few beer stands and got some brown cardboard and a marker and made the same sign. After the first encore I ran from my row (row 28) down to row 15 and asked if they could pass the sign down to the band. Most likely some of you handed this down to the front. When the band came on again, I saw it was around row 6 or so, and then it just died. Reason being, because Ed was on the fuckin roof and people forgot about my sign. :( Grrrrrr!!!!
Anyway, on to my trip.
I flew from NYC to Seattle Friday and just got home about 15 minutes ago.
I fuckin love Seattle, it is fuckin gorgeous, the way of life is great. We went to both Easy Streets, and they are amazing record shops! We went to the one in West Seattle, and I fell in love with W. Seattle...the houses are just so nice, and fuckin right next to Mt. Rainer, and looking out on that water. The other one in Seattle, we met someone going to the Gorge from Colorado! We went to the baseball game Friday night, the ball park is amazing. The next day we went to the needle and a few other places but I forgot my camera so I couldn't get pictures of it.
Later that night we took the trip out to the Gorge, and got there around 5:30 and walked alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way back to the end of the line. I saw a few people from the board that was really cool. Finally we saw someone I knew near the front of the line and they let us in, so we got in on the show ontime. By the time Wash started about 25% of the fans in the lower area were missing...on that line. I think everyone got in by Given To Fly.
I found out the reason for that line if anyone cares, or if it hasn't been described yet.
a) People at WILL CALL (not 10c) could not get their tickets. Ticketbastard shut down so people couldn't get their tickets. So, the people were working on the system rather than helping the 10c tent. There was only about 2 people at the tent for most of the time to do the tickets with only 2 sheets of paper.
b) Everyone who had 10c tickets, showed up all together within 15 minutes. The guy said about 3,000-4,000 people showed up in 15 minutes for their tickets at 10c.
Anyway, so the show was kick ass. It was fuckin hot as hell, Saturday night's show was hotter than Sundays. It was about 102 at showtime, and people were still going fuckin nuts which was great. It was fuckin nice to see the crowd 1000000x better than last year. The "It's OK" tag was gorgeous....Ed changed the lyrics to it as well as Daughter to "The sun gooooooes down" just as the sun was setting, it was the greatest sun set I have ever seen. Insignificance was great to see everyone going nuts at the end of the song. Blood was the highlight for me, so much anger from everyone in the audience I went CRA-ZY. When Ed showed up on the roof over the soundboard, I was stunned. He just ran down the aisle, like SPRINTED, faster than anything I've ever seen. And then.......DIRTY FRANK....for the first 5-10 seconds no one knew what the fuck they were playing, and then we got it. I think it's because we weren't expecting it at all. Then we went crazy...I'm listening to the bootleg right now.
Ed: "Well that Dirty Frank was a baaaaaaaad mothaaaaa..."
Crowd: "SHUT YO MOUTH" (not heard well on the boot)
Ed: smiles..."hey man I'm just talking about Dirty Frank!"
Sunday....high of 110 degrees :(
Show was a lot better than the night before. If they played an acoustic set it would have beaten Gorge 2005, but that didn't happen. Show was amazing!!! There were a lot less people on the lawn but still it was fuckin great.
Look at that first encore!!! I Won't Back Down, Life Wasted, Big Wave, Satans Bed, Spin The Black Circle, Alive!!!!
Whipping was amazing.....Betterman was outstanding with the Save It For Later Tag...but the way they came out with all those songs back to back from Severed hand to Marker In The Sand, it was soooo intense, I was in a pool of sweat.
Little Wing made me almost cry, ha. It's my favorite Hendrix song, and to hear Mike doing his solos, it was great.
Anyway...then Given To Fly with Ed on the roof, Everyone stood on their seats jumping up and down, I fell like twice. Fuckin Up was a HUGE singalong
But yeah back to that Breakerfall sign thing, I think Ed saw it during Even Flow, and he just smiled and turned away. I sat next to the SAME people I sat next to at Gorge 2005 during that 2nd Gorge show. Then I met 2 really nice guys sitting behind me. I was in Section B Row 28 Seat 2.
Then Ed's comments about vomiting and then about how he hasn't wore shorts in 12 years was hilarious.
AND THANKYOU TO THE PERSON THE ROW NEXT TO ME TO START THE "HELLO TOM, COME DOWN TOM CHANT!!!!!!!!"...actually a few rows next and back but I was hoping someone would do it!!! Ed smiled and laughed. This all happened after he asked who was here last year!!
Deffinantly worth the trip. When you take the trip from Seattle to the mountains you go through is just amazing. I took videos of Last Kiss (night 1) and Given To Fly and Little Wing (night 2)...I'll have them on youtube.com in a few days
I met some really cool people that I have talked to for a while...Stickboy, VEDHEAD27, MeddleDeal, Swede, Purple_Chick79...cheers to you guys
By the way I'm looking for a guy I met on a Delta flight Friday morning, he was wearing a red PJ shirt. And then today there was another PJammer in a red shirt but she was going to LA around 730AM.
This experience has been life changing, no joke. I want to move out there now, I can now really find certain things beautiful that I didn't before and just to be in the atmosphere of all the Pearl Jam fans, all friendly and loving throughout...It's amazing how you can just have a 2 hour conversation with anyone at a show like that. There's a picture of the band from the first night with that sunset I was talking about, ISN'T IT BEAUTIFUL?!?!?!
