Mad Season "River of Deceit / I Don't Know Anything (Vinyl)"
Estimated ship date: December 17, 2012
Does that mean they will ship it eventually? I haven't received a cancel email or a notification. Mine still says estimated delivery date Dec 5th to 17th...
Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!
"We are sorry for the delay in completing your order.
Sometimes unexpected fluctuations in supply can add time to our original
availability estimate. We have learned that "River of Deceit / I Don't Know
Anything (Vinyl)" is now back-ordered, and our supplier is not able to tell us
exactly when they expect to have more in stock. I apologize that you were not
notified sooner of this change.
To help compensate you for this unexpected change, I have waived off the
shipping charges from your order.
I can understand that, removing the shipping charges will or never in no way
compensate for the inconvenience caused, please understand that we do care for
our customers and do all we can to avail this item for you, inspite of all the
efforts our reliance on suppliers and manufacturers for information about their
stock, has caused this disappointment. I am extremely sorry for this situation.
Meanwhile, I can assure you that we are working hard to obtain this item for you
and we will ship it as soon as we are able to obtain it. This means that we will
ship the item as soon as we receive it from our suppliers."

Just bought one for my dad... That'll be the first and last time I preorder something from amazon I think.
I was pretty skeptical that Amazon would get them. Mostly because they were RSD releases so they are supposed to record stores. Amazon getting copies would seem to not go with that.
I had mine preordered on amazon.ca, but cancelled it as soon as 10c put some up for sale.
I've had luck with other amazon presales before:
I got pj20 on vinyl for $49ish, pj20 deluxe blu for 19.99. This vinyl would of actually been the first time they didn't come through.
Amazon.ca did a price error with the new Mellon Collie vinyl. A bunch of people ordered it for 26.99. They cancelled saying they did have enough supply. I figured it was a copout but it was also $50 less than retail, so I was surprised. Then I got an email a week later saying they were getting a limited supply and a coupon code so I could reorder it at the original price. I thought that was pretty cool (we'll have to see if it shows up).
Whenever you preorder something thats rare, hard to find, at a big discount, or something doesn't seem right, you can't be all that surprised when it falls through.
I'd preorder with Amazon again, they usually do alright by me.
The thing that has really riled me is not only has my Mad Season been cancelled but they cancelled another order of mine. Then they contacted me to say it was back on and gave me a discount for it (It was a Smashing pumpkins boxset), it even had a shipping date of 03/12. Then on 02/12 they changed it to "we haven't got it, and will pretend to try and get it until we cancel it" or whatever it says....
