Black - The best year ever!

Is it me or are all these versions of Black from this year just fuckin amazing? They suprise me everytime I listen to a version...Just last night I listened to 8 straight versions of it from 2006, and they all blew me away.

The best ones are from the European tour. I listened to Marseille and thought it was fuckin great and THEN Milano(!!!) and I was like HOLY SHIT! Then I heard Berlin and again "HOLY SHIT!"...but my favorite version of it is Pistoia! :D Ed's little improv along with We Belong Together, but the version of WBT at Pistoia the crowd sings that part SO fuckin loud

    While I agree that they have been amazing, Stone needs to go back to playing it the way he did before. The guitar he's been using doesn't sound quite right to me.

    For me Berlin and Pistoia are the 2 best versions of black for 2006, can't decide which one I like most, Milan is also great because of the crowd, but not such a special tag.

    I haven't heard many of the European versions, but the best I've heard so far, is Denver 7/3/06 w/ Benmont Tench (filling in for Boom)

    :) i didn't like the guitar he used at 2003 boots. it didn't have the rich tone black needs. i actually didn't see which guitar he used this time (my eyes were closed for the most of it) but it sounds much better. either he changed back to a tele (or strat possibly) or he changed the amp settings so the tone is different. either way, this is much better imho.

    Black just keeps getting better and better. I loved it in 2000, it was great in 03. I thought 2005 was the best untill I heard the 2006 shows. I love all the extended tags this year.

    my top 3 versions of 06.

    1- Vegas = Come Back tag
    2- Gorge = Take The Pain Away
    3- Marseille - Don't Love You No More/We Didn't Belong Together
    If You Give, You Begin To Live

    Especially Milan, he sounds...well I don't know how to put it into words...who ever says Ed doesn't have a good voice...well fuckin listen to that!!

    Pistoia is my favorite version, the "I am lying when I say I don't love you no more...no more no more no more"...is obviously about beth i think but lets not discuss that...and then the WE BELONG TOGETHER, fuckin crowd sings that SO loud

    Totaly agree. Yestarday I was listening the Pistoia version and it knocked me down. The best tag, Mike's solo is great and the crowd is preety much into it.

    everyone's been giving praise to the european versions, which is great, but i just have to say that toronto 2 was simply phenomenal. no tag, just "to-do-do", but my god (if there is one) - just incredible.

    i didn't listen to other versions of black this tour but i do love athens version. i was there, and i love how the crowd won't stop singing "do do do dooo do do dooo" part and just keep going. some noisy girls kinda messed up the whole boot but if you don't hear them if you just don't want to :)

    I wonder if those who weren't at the concert can sense this gooseflesh feeling just by listening to the bootleg..... the crowd singing at Black was one of the highlights of the Athens concert.... especially when Eddie had closed his eyes, his head up and was listening to the crowd whispering/singing with a slight smile on his face...

    Out of curisoity, has your friend never like Ed's voice?? Some people liked Ed's voice early on but think it's so much different now that it doesn't appeal to them.
