I'm Always skeptical of reviews on Yelp. I feel like most of good ones are from employees.

i think once you get like 200 reviews ... you can filter it out pretty good ... looking at the reviewer and how many reviews they've made ...

Right. It's always worth doing some extra digging on yelp.

Anyway. I wonder if they'll have any reservations for my 15 year anniversary.

also - if you watch the food network as much as i do (it's really like porn to me) ...
Food porn, baby! Sometimes I find myself mesmerized.

I like the chick who looks like a female Guy - SHE knows her food, big time.

Guy strikes me as a little...too...I dunno, much? Schtick-y.

But oh man, he's got one sweet-ass Camaro.

As for Bourdain? Love him through and through.

I'd like to see Anthony Bourdain's thoughts on this review.

I’m fascinated by the Guy Fieri terror-dome they just opened up. 600 seats, something like that? 600 seats. And a gift shop. And all of these poor diners, drives and whatever, douchebags waddle in there. First of all, he single handedly turned the neighborhood into the Ed Hardy district which I’m a little pissed off about…But all of these poor bastards see him eating cheap food on TV, they go in there and it’s what $18? For a f*cking hamburger? The french fries are like $12? By the time you buy a drink you’re out of there for what? I tell you what [Ed. note: I like that he talks like Hank Hill], that guy has set back spelling like two decades. All these kids trying to spell “kewl” with a K.

I don't see a whole lot of difference between AB and GF. they're both celebrity/entertainer/chefs. AB is more of a douchebag.

My two cents would be that one guy came by this 'fame' a bit more honestly than the other. (If you have never read 'Kitchen Confidential' it is a very good read.) So maybe AB has more 'chops' -- either way I imagine that GF can still cook circles around most people but he won a show on Food Network to get into the public eye.

My vote is for AB -- he gets drunk with The Black Keys and Josh Homme.
The love he receives is the love that is saved
  • That was tremendous... I might just go to see if it sucked that much...

for sure AB is more of a douchebag ... the guy likes using words like "murder" to describe something already dead ...:lol:

I used to Love the DDD show, but I now get annoyed when Guy does a play-by-play of what the chef is doing...let the damn chef describe what he is doing!

My favorite Food Network star is Alton Brown...he's such a nerd! Alton is the only person Anthony Bourdain hasn't put on the chopping block...

I LOVE Alton! Dude's like a walking encyclopedia...an unpompous encyclopedia.

As to d-bagginess, I think Bourdain is just an asshole...albeit an honest, smart, funny and likable one...so he gets a pass from me.

(also to Joe - agreed on the play-by-play; keep quiet once in a while, fer chrissakes! I'd be curious to hear those chefs' takes on him)
