I used to like Chris Matthews (probably 4-6 years ago). He seemed objective. He's now so over the top liberal it is difficult to watch and take him seriously.

I listened to a show recently where someone brought corporations and Chris Matthews blurted out "Corporations fire people!". Well, to fire someone that means they have to hire someone. They have to create a business that employs people. It is very sad, and very scary the direction this country is going where job creators are viewed as evil.

I'm nervous for what this country looks like in 10 years. Are we going to have riots like Europe when the government runs out of money?

    1. Nobody thinks "job creators" are evil.

    2. We are not "descending" into socialism.

When is this nonsense going to stop?

Here is my wildly, unsubstantiated speculation on this...
Chris Matthews is in the business of making money for himself... who isn't? He is in the same business ad Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Rachel Maddow, et.al. Their goal is to sell books and/or garner ratings to boost sponsorship.
Anyone who takes any of these people seriously... probably on the down side of the intelligence curve. These people are entertainers... that is why they are on television and/or radio. The crazier shit they say, the more publicity they get... good or bad, publicity is publicity and it sells.
Take them for what they are worth... just as you would take a singer or an actor. Because, the reality is... they are not here to inform us... informing us is OUR job, not theirs... they are here for our entertainment.

When is this nonsense going to stop?

Is the US 16 trillion in debt? Yes.
Is there a record number of food stamp recipients? Yes.
Are social security and Medicare on their way to insolvency? Yes.
Do millions rely government to pay for their schooling?
Do millions rely on unemployment benefits? Yes.
Is the country at 7.9% unemployment with most new jobs part-time? Yes.
Are millions not even bothering to look for work anymore? Yes.

So, when the debt gets to 20 trillion and then 25 trillion, and employment does not improve, and more people are looking for social security, medicare, healthcare, and unemployment benefits, what happens when the money runs out?

I never used the word socialism. I'm just looking at the debt, and all of the programs the government has. What happens when the cash runs out? You can double the tax rates and won't put a dent in the budget or debt.

Obama increased the debt by 5 trillion with no tangible job growth. You expect me to believe that Obama is going to cut the deficit. I learned from the last four years and voted accordingly.

What happens when the money runs out?

I agree. I believe Chris Matthews had to become more liberal to survive on MSNBC with Olbermann and Maddow getting all the ratings.
