Let's face it...

I don't think people who didn't support Obama are upset he won, I truly believe the non-supporters (i.e Republicans) are upset because it COULD have been won...easily, in fact...
I've watched all the election coverage I can stomach...
I've read all of the unpleasant comments here, on Twitter, and elsewhere...
The fact of the matter is this: had the Republican party not have been so clumsy and full of nastiness, they very well could have won this thing...
I look at the ridiculous "47%" comment for starters...I look at a Republican Convention that was a shambles, respectfully, no Republican leaders of the last 15 yrs even invited to speak (including W) let alone senile old timers talking to furniture and disrespecting a sitting President (never a good look)...How about the Rick Santorums (rejecting separation of the state and the church), Newt Gingrichs, Rick Perrys, Donald Trumps and even Michelle Bachmanns being faces of the party? Mr. Romney, who was successful in so many different arenas - including running one of the countries most liberal states as Governor, simply couldn't distance himself from the extremists in his own party.
I watched Romney last night in his "concession" speech and wondered - "why didn't see more of THIS human in the debates and the like?" The problem wasn't really Mitt I don't think. I think the problem is the Republican party needs an overhaul (like the election process) and needs to speak to more than just the old timer white males.
I hope this country can get behind Obama. I hope this country can work together, fix some of ills and get this thing moving in the right direction. I also hope the once proud Republican party, can shake the tea-baggers and extremists and re-invent itself as servants of ALL people, and do so in a respectful way.
Good luck Mr. President and godspeed everyone in the USA.

good points, here are a few of my own...

-generally our votes arent cast for a person but rather for a party, the person is beholden to the party and party line, once your in its hard to turn back
-what does the person stand for, what has he stood for? besides budget cuts and deregulation, was he clear with his intentions?
-he chose paul rayn-rand as his VP, in one breath he talks about budgets cuts, cutting gov't jobs and then the next breath he says how he will create jobs?? are you cutting or creating jobs? or both? he didnt need rayn-rand as his VP to get the fringe votes, he would have gotten them anyway when it became a close race
-he vowed to repeal o-bomb-us-care which is really a rebrand of rMoney-care from mass. what so bad about the healthcare he created?
-did he and the republican braintrust really think that the american public is so naive and gullible to elect a billionare that conceals his tax returns, made millions on takeover businesses that exported jobs, has secret overseas bank accounts, shows disdain for 47% of americans, who looks to corporatize medicare, privatize social security, expand the wasteful "defense" budget and further the wealth and income gap?
-america didnt vote for o-bomb-us, half didnt even bother to vote, they voted against rMoney

While the 47% hurt it is true. If someone is giving you something you are going to try to keep that person in power. It is human nature. The thing that might of been taking out of context is probably that 47% of the population made up their mind so he had to work on the other 53%. I don't know, it does not matter anymore.

Exit polls showed that 50%+ do not like Obamacare, so we will see how that pans out.

All that matters now is that we get our country going in the right way. I do not care who does it but someone needs to step up.

What you really mean is that Republicans can hopefully re-invent themselves to actually compromise in doing what's right for the people, don't you?
