You know those people who say "every time it gets brought up to vote it gets voted down?"

Well they can no longer say that.

Four states voted and although they haven't finished all the counting... Two are locks... Two look like they will pass.

So that will mean we won them all.

And elected the first lesbian senator.

  • Make that three locks. We'll wait until tomorrow for Minnesota.

Oh.. and the judge in Iowa who NOM tried to have voted out for his support of marriage equality there... kept his seat on the bench.

    So NOM is running 0-for-5.

    I feel... kinda good.

very very proud of america right now, election its first LGBT senator, and also a president who supports gay marriage.

economically i could vote republican, but until the reps get with the times socially there is no chance

Going from 0-32 to 4-0 is quite a big shift. Congrats to the LG community and to parts of America for coming to its senses. Also, thanks to the president, whose endorsement I would say was crucial to turning the tide on this issue.

did some states actually pass initiatives/amendments legalizing same sex marriage? I sure hope so.

Minnesota's amendment didn't pass as far as I know. But that doesn't mean it is legal here unfortunately. There was literally no reason this amendment was needed and most Minnesotans, including many republicans who supported the original law, thought it was simply spite that was driving it. It backfired here like I thought it would, republicans got their asses kicked in MN from local to national and I am so glad. This party needs to find a new moral center much further to the side of personal freedom.

Good stuff...This will surely push more states into bringing these issues to vote in the near future.
