    It wouldn't be an election without some shenanigans happening in Philly.

    I will say this. In 2008, I had vote Obama fliers on my screen door handle and on my windshield election day morning. And all the telephone polls by me in South Philly had vote Obama signs stapled on them.

    Absolutely nothing this morning except a few signs by the polling place. So either the Dems are really confidant they are getting the vote out on their own or there is a lack of "street" money this year to get the word out.

    Good morning Speedy. I just assume healthcare will continue to go up way astronomically especially with the law Affordable Care Act being passed.

    Since O took office my health insurance has gone up 35% on the same plan. But he deserves another 4 years. ;) Who knows, maybe my healthcare will double by the time he leaves office.

    Ok first... if your healthcare has gone up... blame the insurance company... Obamacare doesn't come into effect for another two years.

    Second... there are currently MANY reports of Republican operatives targeting minority neighborhoods, intimidating voters, trying to cause problems and causing shit. THAT is why the "new black panthers" are there. to try to counteract that.

    That's why they're in black neighborhoods. You're not going to find them in the Hamptons.

    Most of all.. you're ALREADY paying for "free healthcare." Mitt Romney himself told people that if they're having a heart attack, just go to the Emergency Room for "free care." Apparently, nobody explained to him who pays for that. OBamacare now requires everyone to pay for their own health insurance so you and me are NOT on the hook paying for anyone else.

    And if you'd read anything about it, you would know that.

    But so are the robo calls from republicans with the wrong polling places and touch screens that aren't working properly.

    Totally unacceptable. I'd be just as pissed if it was Romney. I'm also kinda uncomfortable with that mural if it's in a school. Not sure why... students need to learn about politics, but that doesn't look like anything other than a campaign ad.

    This election really has shown that we need MAJOR election overhauls. Not only in making sure that everyone gets to vote... but how and where they do it.

    I'm going to say that mail voting.. online voting.. there's got to be SOME way to keep these election day cluster fucks from happening.

    Agree completely, man. I think a big part of the problem is our discourse. People allow themselves to get bullied into teams and it's more about hating the other team than having convictions about your own. Thus, it's no surprise people can be brainwashed into manipulating the election process; if they've had it beat into their head that the "other guy" is trying to dismantle their values, they can justify the notion of winning at all costs. Being able to discuss this stuff politely with one another would go a long way to minimize this sort of behavior.
