Where's the outrage?

As we continue OUR attempt to rid the world of discrimination and hate speech, whether it be against minorities like blacks, gays or any other group, I find the hate simply gets shifted.

Next on the list: "gingers."

I see a lot of jokes made about people with red hair and freckles, on Twitter and Facebook. When will WE start speaking up for these people? They have no choice in the color of their natural hair or how many freckles they have.

    I'm serious. I find it appalling. It's not OK to hold judgement against someone for their skin color or sexual orientation but everyone yucks it up when a ginger joke is thrown out there.

    I honestly don't know much about the topic other than having read a story or two of kids getting harassed for yes - something totally beyond their control.

    Though I agree with you - it makes sense, actually, although I initially thought the post was intended to a bit tongue-in-cheek - after you clarified it wasn't, I'm sorry that what could've been an interesting discussion got unnecessarily poked fun at.

    I never knew they didn't :? I wanted to be a redhead since I was 7 years old. Too bad it looks ridiculous with my coloring :( I never heard them called "gingers" until a couple of years ago either
