I was wondering what the standard of the shows I attended were like compared to the whole of the Aussie tour. Anyone who attended all or most of them, I was wondering if u could rate them in some sort of order??!!!! Based on the entire show in general i.e. crowd, setlist etc. I know it's hard to rate them and everyone has a different opinion, but I feel like some of the shows I went to were just AWESOME (eg. Adelaide 1) and want to know how others think they compared with the rest of the tour. thanks guys! :D:D:D

i know someday you'll have a beautiful life,
i HOPE you'll be a star,
in somebody elses sky, but why, why, why can't it be, why can't it be mine?!

  • It's very hard to do, because every show has golden moments, but based on the shows I went to:

    Adelaide 2
    Brisbane 1
    Adelaide 1
    Perth
    Melbourne 2
    Brisbane 2
    Melbourne 1

And based on all of the shows, in terms of my own views, widely accepted views, and what I have discussed with other people:

    Newcastle
    Brisbane 1
    Adelaide 2
    Melbourne 3
    Adelaide 1
    Sydney 1
    Perth
    Melbourne 2
    Sydney 3
    Brisbane 2
    Melbourne 1
    Sydney 2

But it's ridiculous to rank the shows, really.
    Brisbane 8/2/03 -- Adelaide 16/2/03 -- Melbourne 18/2/03 -- Brisbane 10/11/06 -- Brisbane 11/11/06 -- Melbourne 13/11/06 -- Melbourne 14/11/06 -- Adelaide 21/11/06 -- Adelaide 22/11/06 -- Perth 25/11/06

Well, i only went to brisbane1 and perth and had completely different seats both times. I thought ed at the start of perth looked and seemed a tad tired. Probably coz he was recovering and it was the last gig too. Also KOL seemed not so into it as brissie. I thought there was more energy from the bands in brissie, but also think the perth show was more emotional. Yellow ledbetter was an absolute treat for the bris show, but Blood was exceptional in Perth. I would rate these two shows equal!

All I know is that Newy was the best show I went to, Brisbane 1 had an insane crowd, and Sydney 2 had my favourite setlist..... everything else is a blur

this is hard, so i might just mention the standouts for me (i missed brisbane sadly) :

sydney 3 - fantastic crowd and great set, with i got you, daughter/beds are burning, smile, young nick onstage in ritfw, plus a nice better man opener.

newcastle - this one felt like a fan club show for the front few rows, and the set is out of this world.

melbourne 2 - great crowd, nice little second encore featuring leash, baba and indifference.

adelaide 2 - what a setlist! porch opener, lbc, nais, 1/2 full, thin air, mfc, p.t., i believe in miracles, satan's bed.

melbourne 3 - best melbourne set (long road, lbc, moth, off he goes, p.t., solat), really fun show with the coin drop game.

well being an aussie who went to Santa Barbara, LA 2 and both Gorge's aswell as both Adelaide's.... So I have a non biased view of the aussie shows because I can compare them to the US ones...

Adelaide 1 compared to LA 2 and Santa Barbara with being all good sets and amazing crowds.. Adelaide night 1 crowd surprised me heaps it was an awesome crowd. LA 2 was something else though amazing rocking crowd.

Adelaide 2 and Gorge 1 were the best sets of the year that I saw.... Adel 2 had some of my favs (1/2 Full, Thin Air, NAIS, Satan's Bed).

So in my opinion the Adelaide shows compared very nicely to atleast SB and LA 2. I was vert impressed with the Adelaide shows... As an Aussie it was good to get a comparsion to the Aussie shows.
I'm just flying around the other side of the world to say I love you

Sha la la la i'm in love with a jersey girl

I love you forever and forever :)

    Adel 03 Melb 1 03 LA 2 06 Santa Barbara 06 Gorge 1 06 Gorge 2 06 Adel 1 06 Adel 2 06 Camden 1 08 Camden 2 08 Washington DC 08 Hartford 08

..yeah I agree, #3 blew them both out of the water.

#1 was a fantastic start to the tour, but #2 was only let down by the crowd.

  • I saw 4 amazing shows ... and from my own experiences ...

    -Melbourne 1
    -Sydney 3
    -Melbourne 2
    -Melbourne 3

But all in all I'm grateful to have seen that many shows. But purely because Melbourne 1 was my first pearl jam show, I just can't top it off with any of the others coz i was just completely caught up in the whole thing ...
  • ok i'll play, i saw 2 shows...here are my rankings LOL

    Melb 1

I only went to 4 and Sydney 3 and Newcastle were just mashed together into one big party weekend. Sydney 1 then 2. Sydney 2 was so much fun though because of the old attitude that Ed was giving the crowd. All were special for different reasons thats for sure.

Will never forget the weekend of the 18th & 19th of November 2006 for as long as I live.
I can't go the library anymore, everyone STINKS!!

  • Have been a fan since 1994 and saw them for the first time at the bris shows. Bris 1 we did not have such great seats but PJ were great. Bris 2 was just mind blowing stuff. Travelled from South Africa to see them-worth every cent! They are just the best BAND IN THE WORLD!

Completely obsessed with Pearl Jam at the moment.
