I do read your posts. For the most part... I enjoy them as well.

I just think you've made your point. By carrying on... I guess I was thinking this was something bigger for you and offered a perspective. No intent to start a quarrel or irritate.

    All good.

No I'm just pretty passionate about big government or the lack of the need for one.

You know what? I hear where you're coming from, but I have to say that the concept of government is necessary in the modern world. I don't think an alternative reality would work very well.

The problem lies in the accountability area. I'm well aware of the 'waste' that occurs in government affairs. If we could work to ensure tax money was well spent with accountability measures... I'm sure you would likely feel different.

...and this is essentially why I'm passionate about things like this prop. 37. I realize government is necessary. Adding government that accomplishes nothing is not.

Again, all I mentioned was for people to do their research on this and other issues and not just vote "yes" because EV said so.

I plan to do research....but, of course, only because DS1119 told me so. :wtf:

it's too bad that you approach proposition 37 with about the same amount of critical thinking you adopt for every issue ... your stance is essentially more gov't involvement is bad ... how lazy of a position is that!? ... it's pretty obvious we need gov't in our lives ... i can respect an opinion that believes in minimalist involvement but each case has to be taken within its own context ... you can't start railing on a proposition based on a false bias ... your passion is great and i do commend you asking people to do their own research on the matter but based on what you've written - it's too bad you don't follow your own advice ...

You may want to read more about it actually. It's not as simple as a label. I have followed my own advice BTW but thatnks for making sure I did. Also, Canada is spelled with a "C". I found that on the interweb.

So three threads, plus the Prop 37 thread, not to criticize anyone else's opinions....simply as a PSA to remind us to read? :

ok then! Didn't realize DS stood for Dr.Seuss. ;)

I could go into every thread on the Train and remind everyone to do their own research....and what would that accomplish? Aside from an implication that I have already done my research, and my opinion is superior because of it? As if people would see things your way if they just took the time to actually understand the issue....

like i said on your other thread ... i did read it ... and it really is about labeling ... you just show no credibility on a subject when you make posts that suggest this proposition will be the end of small farmers and farmers markets ... it's absurd and just shows you aren't really thinking critically on the subject ...

and hey ... thanks is spelled with one 't' ... i didn't have to look on the web for that ... the red squiggles tell me that ...

um, your first post in this thread says he should adhere to the guidelines of the forums, which is basically saying he can't say what he wants.
