Hi,
I recently purchased three posters from the 2006 Oz tour from a guy in Germany, he has two usernames on eBay:
"Kult_kloemel" and "Vitor-Belfort".
He claims to be selling originals for the 2006 Australia PJ Tour - a series of 12 posters designed by Rhys Cooper, Ken Taylor and others. The series was produced by Beyond The Pale Posters which is based in Melbourne Australia.
It just happens that I get all my framing done at Beyond the Pale and when I presented these "hard to find" posters, the owner told me they were fake, he heard of them being reproduced and sold out of Germany years ago but until me, he hasn't actually seen any of the copies. The copies are good, when looking at them solo they are very good, but when viewed side by side to the original, you can tell the difference, most noticeable is a slight size difference (talking mm's in length and width) and the colours are not as bright in the originals.
One of my posters I bought even had the artist signature copied. I didn't pay too much for these ones so I am not pissed about the money, I just think it's pretty dodgy this guy is profiting off PJ and Beyond The Pale's name and copyrighted material. I don't know if there is anything the 10c can do about it...
Please do not support this a**hole.
