Seventeen years for planning to wage war on your own country? Only seventeen years?!?! I'm sorry but that is insane. Either life in prison without the possibility of parole or death. And this is why I am very much in favor of the death penalty.

Yet another angry young man who had no means to carry out his plan, no knowledge on how to and landed on the Big Brother Rader and who supplied just enough rope to hang himself, wake up, it's just Federal Entrapment, it's their new thing.

To me entrapment is buying drugs because they were made too readily available to you, or soliciting an undercover cop who you thought was just a girl/guy in a bar. Flying to Washington, DC to scout targets is not entrapment.

It's just like those guys who wanted to blow a bridge in Cleveland or that Banglideshian kid who want to blow up the federal reserve, if he actually had the capability to do so, or was any where near do you really think he would have just gotten 17 years? The Judge realized the truth, even if the media and governent sold it as something else.

Maybe. You make a good point. That said, I am not comfortable with someone who willfully engaged in conduct like this being back out on the street in seventeen years. Had he been in contact with actual terrorist handlers this story probably has a much different ending.

The definition of entrapment is the action of luring an individual into committing a crime in order to prosecute the person for it.

When someone willingly goes out looking for weapons, it's not entrapment.

I Hadn't but Thank You, this goes toward what i'm saying. There is pro-Active law enforcement and then there's scary. We are losing what it is to be American for Safety. I'm not even sure whats better, but i am commenting on the change.
