I wonder what would be said if we changed the name on your quote to Obama? Typical response with no substance or clear message that is positive or moral!

Mitt Romney: “We should take all of what we’re doing at the federal level and say, what are the things we’re doing that we don’t have to do? And those things we’ve got to stop doing, because we’re borrowing $1.6 trillion more this year than we’re taking in. We cannot…

John King: Including disaster relief, though?

Mitt Romney: We cannot — we cannot afford to do those things without jeopardizing the future for our kids. It is simply immoral, in my view"

And now a storm...weather - mother fucking nature...becomes political fodder.

From here, based on the nasty shit I've seen happening on the other side of the country -

I hope for safety and minimal destruction - regardless of party affiliations.

There are times when people need to get over themselves.

I totally agree, Hedonist. Perhaps somewhere down the line a discussion of the political ramifications of our reaction to this and other major natural occurrences might be useful, thoughts about our affect on the environment might make useful discussion, beautifully crafted statements about the awesome power of nature might be worthy of our contemplation. But right now let's be supportive of those who are in the midst of this very intense and difficult situation.

Edit. And sorry for sounding so damn pompous. Bottom line: let's show care for each other right now.
