For sale Historical items (not for the weak of heart)

Hi all,

If you recall the threads this year of all the signed items on sale and very unique offerings, then you will recall the nature of the stuff on offer. The same seller has reached into his magic cupboard and pulled out what are probably his best items yet. I dont think initially he felt he could let them go, but the time is here.

Below are pictures of 4 VERY rare cassettes. 3 Bad Radio and one PJ ten sort of promo tape that Ed made. These tapes were bought many years ago by him from a friend close to Ed who had them in his personal collection.

Two reasons for posting them here, firstly so everyone can take a look....and secondly on the off chance anyone would be interested in purchasing.

The price is not cheap, in fact its high but as you can see they are very unique, fully signed with notes and some doodles.....truely one of a kind items, and will never be available anywhere else.

As I already mentioned the seller is a long time Pj collector who has recently decided to let a portion of his collection go for many reasons. Some years ago he was offered $4k for one of these tapes by a commercial outlet wanting to make copies for commercial purposes which he rejected. So the price he has set,. and believe me i know its eye watering, is $6k for the set of 4. or $2k each. The same price as a reeenk which some will think is questionnable. Im not here to debate the value of them however, just to offer them up to see if it helps anyone out. Preferraby he would like the tapes to all go to one person, based on these tapes forming a type of set. But if anyone wants to create a consortium that is entirely your choice.

I wish him luck. It's rather difficult to guarantee the validity of any rare item, especially as we've seen with Reenk Roink. The only hesitation i'd have is that the quality of the BR stuff is terrible...a product of the times.

The coolest part of these is Eddie calling his audition: "Eddie in Seattle w/ Love Bone."

I'm very fortunate to have a VERY rare item in my possession. I'm never going to spill the beans about it, but I have shared digital copies of it with a few people who I was tight with in bootleg trading circles. I'd never try to profit off of it because the way in which I received it was astonishing - Out of left field, I simply helped a fellow bootleg collector out with a few shows around a decade ago. I was lucky to be part of a circle of people intent on collecting and sharing every show of the band ever recorded. Those were fun times. It's changed so much now that the digital files are so accessible.

Why talk about it if you arent going to share at least what it is? You were part of a community that shared every show out there, but you're never going to spill the beans about this? It reminds me of the guy on here that always says he has info..........but never spills it.

Think what you want, it won't change me. It's not for widespread consumption. It's not my place to spill the beans in such a direct manner. If someone helped me track down a HTF bootleg back in the day, I shared it with them. I just felt compelled to share here rather than start a thread about that sort of thing.

    Back to the OP's topic...

    Very cool.

A few months back an item surfaced for sale that was never meant to see the light of day, ever. Needless to say when the band's management got word about said item they went on the offense about preventing its' release and immediately obtaining it back.

I didn't say I always have info. I simply said info that was shared by others was incorrect.

thanks for posting pics! I feel so 'dirty' for looking at them...

I do understand some of those that don't want to speak about what they have in their collections. My collection isn't very big, but there are some things that I absolutely love and cherish.

Now, excuse me...I just need to go win the lottery now...

I was ready to balk at this after seeing that first photo, but that set is pretty wild.

On a side note, someone should start a thread titled Post Vague Descriptions of the Coolest Rarest Stuff You Have. We'll be awash in stroked egos and blue balls.

I think I have those, actually. My finding them in the "vault" would be an entirely different set of challenges. I have at least a dozen 100-disc cd binders full of shows in data backup form. It became too much to enjoy, so I simply shelved the endeavor. :D
