I have this on vinyl, recorded 1972 in London, I believe. At the end, you can hear over the P.A. "Please exit the building so we can clear out and get ready for Pink Floyd!"

    Cheers,

The first minute is just an interview with Keith, the shit starts after that. Though in all fairness, Keith probably dished out some abuse to some musicians back in the day as well, namely Mick Taylor.

I just love how Chuck refers to himself in the third person . "That's the way Chuck Berry plays it. Understand?"

One of the true architect's of Rock n' Roll. Plays here one Wednesday per month if your in the area.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blueberry_Hill_(restaurant)
Considered flying out just to see him although I've heard it's pretty bad. Then again it's all relevant to the audience. I saw Bob Dylan Fri. night and his voice sounds like Tom Waits w/ bronchitis. Don't think he picked up a guitar once. Some of the songs were unrecognizable but it was fuckin' great. It's Bob Dylan!

Keith RIchards couldn't carry Chuck Berry's guitar case but I'm not here to argue that.

What I would like to know is what's funnier? Chuck beingChuck or Rickey being Rickey?

Oh me neither. Keith's a rhythm player, one of the greatest, but a rhythm player. And I don't think Keith would argue with me when I say that The Stones wouldn't have had a career without Chuck. Or many other bands for that matter. Dude's an icon.

    So true. And Muddy Waters!

According to this story from Rolling Stone...

    http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/chuck-berry-praises-obama-laments-fading-voice-20121027

I don't think Chuck is going to be recording anything. And if you don't want to read the whole thing, here's the main bit, it comes from a press conference as Chuck accepted an award at the R&R Hall of Fame.

The most moving moment came when Berry discussed his own future. Explaining that he doesn't hear well, Berry turned to his friend Edwards. "If you don’t mind, Joe, explaining [questions] to me, because I am hearing very little. I’m wondering about my future," he said, raising his finger. "That’s news!"

Berry was asked to expand. "Well, I’ll give you a little piece of poetry," he said. "Give you a song? I can’t do that. My singing days have passed. My voice is gone. My throat is worn. And my lungs are going fast. I think that explains it."

St. Louis Post-Dispatch writer Kevin C. Johnson argued that people still pay to see Berry monthly at St. Louis’ Blueberry Hill. "I’ll tell you what that is," Berry said. "They’re having a great time from memory. And I hope that I can continue to enhance their memory because it looks very dim, like I said, you know."

Perhaps his comments in the OP article were about older songs that haven't been released?

The article did refer to some of the songs being written some 16 years ago. Who knows? All I do know is that Chuck Berry at 86 is probably still bettter than 76.98375 % of the shit on the radio today.
