"Second hand shoe, it just won't do!"

Somehow my friendship isn't enough
I hear the refrain starting again
so, what can I do but notice?
to trace the evolving shape inside
a mind, a heart
it takes a long time
but let's say one has this gift from a clock?
and it could be that some have the desire to pour out?
what is the consequence of the uncorking?
over time, strangers fall in love with you.
it's true!
they do!
I don't know why, but I suppose it is the exposure
to the human core that's rare
men fall in love with women they've never met
and women fall in love with men they don't know
perhaps it's like an unknown neighbor in the high-rise across the street,
glimpsing another's life, one sees intimate moments?
I don't know!
but it seems like there's this potential for observers to get attached
especially when they see inside others for a long time
and that's fine!
but, what i wonder is,
why does the issue of people needing physical contact come up?
Is that merely the natural progression of the attachment?
Does that mean that the people who share themselves
need to be careful and aware of this process?

I love this post/poem it captures life's life little moments when the heart takes the leed
    without us really knowing why.

This one is actually about a mixture of several thoughts.

Wondering why people fall in love just from exposure to others' insides AND wondering about why people view true friendship as less than love.

I wonder about the second because married people can't really offer more than friendship and yet people seem to feel it's "not enough." It's somehow less. It's the old shoe no one wants! :?

Sometimes the best way to get an understanding of anything is to put the shoe on the other foot

This is good advice in most cases, but I feel you're just trying to be clever by re-using a shoe analogy at the moment. :P

Well, actually, I did think of it first....but probably the only reason I typed it was because it was so appropriate.

    ya know...
    like if the shoe fits...
