I hope things continue to improve for all of you. What a nightmare this has been.

Mr. Unlost is back in Rockaway with FEMA, no estimated date of return.

I'm at medical informatics conference in Chicago, and the hurricane and disaster management has been a hot topic. So much empathy for the folks who were affected...

please thank mr unlost for me personally.
i briefly saw FEMA up near Beach 116th and Waldbaums .

got gas at an out of the way station today with no problem. People still in line on the main roads.
saw lots of tankers on the road. hopefully those stations without gas will start to load up.

This weather system coming will be interesting. I'm going to NYC for Damien Echols book signing. I mean it's Henry Rollins and Echols. Can't wait to here this interview. I'll face the rain wind...or do I dare say snow?? Going down to 32 tonight. BBBrrrr.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

You can also use my washer and dryer. Or if anyone knows someone that can't get on these boards, let them know. Please do not hesitate to ask.

Great offer thanks you rock , yeah i got 1st estimate for the repairs needed for my house $30k next is the State farm agent coming to my house on thursday , now to shore up the tarps that are covering the damaged parts of home before Thrusday bad weather coming up .....Another positive thing my work has set up shuttle buses to get employees to&back from work i took shuttle at exit 52 on LIE at 8:15 got here to work 9:00 so at least i'm saving on gas :) ......
Where do you work? I work at the corner of Wicks Rd and the south service road of the expressway (the Medical Action building). Depending on where you live and where you work, I could give you a ride.

They're doing humanitarian work there, distributing supplies. It's not the usual mission for the Urban Search and Rescue system, but he and his team members are happy to be of some small help.

Wishing for relief for all of you...

I saw a fleet of tankers at the refinery in Holbrook. I wanted to hug all of the drivers  I make it a point to say thank you or give a thumbs up to the electricians working. They are busting their asses. This time last week, there were 942,000 people out of just over a million people without power. Now there's 200,000-something without. I think that's a really good job, considering they had to rebuild the back end.

Have fun at Damien's signing. I bumped into him at an art gallery opening. I was just about speechless. All I could manage to get out was "It's such an honor to FINALLY shake your hand." He's so gracious.

Saw a pic Joseph Arthur posted from the tour bus on their way to the next show...I see why it was cancelled.

Just had a call from Mr. Unlost.

He's going to be there at least another week.

FEMA is going to do well-being checks of 1,600 buildings, a total of some 11,000 apartments, in the far Rockaways (? Far Rockaway?)

The good news is that due to his gym regimen on the stairmaster, Mr. Unlost was able to (with his team) hurry up 25 flights of stairs carrying infant formula, diapers and other supplies for a mom and newborn. The bad news was, when they got to the apartment, mom and baby had already left.

How did everybody do in last night's storm? We had quite a bit of snow in Boston.

Wow, I didn't know it was that bad there.

I don't know if they will have police with them or not.

I don't think they did in Mississippi or New Orleans after Katrina, but I don't know for sure. I remember him having to take some time to get used to seeing citizens (in Mississippi) walking down the street openly holding firearms. (Massachusetts has incredibly strict gun control laws, so it's always a bit of a culture shock to be someplace where carrying firearms is not uncommon.)

    ___________
ADDENDUM: Just texted him. He says they're well protected by ATF agents.
