Would it be too much to ask if I can score some tickets? My lovely bride and I want to go to New York and see Mick and Keith. Just make it happen pal!

On a side note, I remember praying to God back when I was in high school in '97 that Keith wouldn't kick the bucket before I got the chance to see The Stones later that year. I really didn't think he was going to make it, but I feel pretty silly about it now. I'm not going to say it worked, but there is some unnatural force keeping that man alive.

I'm assuming you've never been to a Stones concert. Even though I probably rank Pearl Jam as my favorite band, The Stones are far and away the best concert I've ever been to. Being in the presence of Mick, Keith and Charlie... and even Ronnie, is something to behold. Sure, they're not as good as they used to be (who is?), but it's still the FUCKING STONES!!!! And if Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman make appearances (short or long) as they are rumored to, then I'd pray for some damn tickets too. But Speedy has God dibs, so I'll just watch the second Newark show on Pay Per View like everybody else and enjoy it.

Oh hell yeah, that's from the St. Louis show on the Bridges To Babylon tour. I remember watching that on Pay Per View, and the DVD (while it has no special features or anything) is great. I'm not a big fan of the arrangement of SFTD in the modern era, but when you're there you'll still rock out all the same.
By the way, in the future when anybody asks why you want to see the Stones, just post this....

Even though I'm so tired of that song, and I rarely listen to it (it's kind of like Even Flow on live albums to RS fans) this version kicks so much fucking ass it is unreal. I probably listen to it every day, but it's only on the Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out box set, so invest. There's also some really good videos on the DVD that comes in the box.
Edit: By the way, the sound quality on that video is nowhere near the sound quality on Ya-Ya's.

I've never seen them play "Sister Morphine". They played it a lot on the Bridges To Babylon Tour, but luckily for me the night they stopped here they switched it out with "Dead Flowers", which is one of my favorite songs. And luckily the people doing the "Web Vote" (that was so impressive back then, for those that weren't there, basically the folks at home got to vote on a Web Vote song that the people at the show would hear) voted for us to get "Star Star", whoever those people are thank you.

Probably one of my Top 5 Stones songs. Unfortunately there's no really good official live version of it. The only time it's been released officially is on Live Licks, and that version is edited in half and sucks. I can't believe it wasn't on "Ladies And Gentlemen.... The Rolling Stones". The versions on Back Strap Jacket (Perth/Sydney '73 Bootleg) are fantastic, which is why I'm still holding out hope it sees a release. Maybe not for the last of the Archive Series, since we still don't have a Brian Jones era concert (and there's only supposed to be one more), but it needs to be released. It just needs some mixing and cleaning up and it could be a badass double live album.
