New 'supergroup' comprised of Britt Daniel (Spoon), Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade/Handsome Furs), and Sam Brown (New Bomb Turks), and I am absolutely loving them!!! Saw them perform last night and it was one awesome show! They work really well all together and were clearly having a ton of fun onstage. They even covered a Frank Ocean song! Got the chance to meet Britt and Dan too, and they are such genuinely nice people! Been listening to their new album 'A Thing Called Divine Fits' a bunch lately. Any other fans?

Living is no laughing matter: you must live with great seriousness like a squirrel for example - I mean without looking for something beyond and above living, I mean living must be your whole occupation.

I initially wasn't keen on the idea, thinking it would sound too much like Spoon and that if I wanted to listen to Brit Daniel, I'd just listen to Spoon.

Then, I saw them live last week at a little studio in Santa Monica in front of about 150 people. (http://blogs.kcrw.com/musicnews/2012/10 ... e-on-kcrw/ I can see myself in the second to last photo in the set)

They were great and definitely made me a fan. Love how Brit and Dan trade off everything from vocals to instruments. Been listening to the album almost non-stop since and just won tickets to see them when they come back to Hollywood. :D Looking forward to seeing them play a full set!

New Bomb Turks is a 90's punk band. Still together but not really active.

Agreed, I loved that also! They work really, really well together. It was pretty awesome that when I was talking to Britt and Dan, I mentioned how I saw Spoon in 2010 in NYC, and they actually brought Dan up onstage to sing a few songs with them. Dan told me that was the first time they'd ever performed live together, so that was pretty cool to have seen the 'origins' of Divine Fits! Enjoy your show in LA, I'm sure you will!
