A Middle Eastern man tried to blow up the Federal Reserve Bank in Lower Manhattan this morning, law-enforcement sources told the Post.

The terrorist wannabe parked a van filled with what he thought were explosives outside of the Liberty Street building, sources said, then tried to set them off using a cell phone detonator.

The suspect, who was not immediately identified, was provided the explosives from an undercover FBI agent that he met on the Internet and believed to be an accomplice, the sources said.

The suspect raised red flags after posting about Jihad online, they said.

The agent made contact with the jihadist about three months ago. The suspect told him that he wanted to blow up the bank, the sources said.

The suspect and the FBI agent planned the fake attack for months, sources said.

This morning, after parking the van, he went to the Millennium Hotel near the World Trade Center, where he called the cell phone in the van.

It did not explode, and he was arrested by federal agents.

The terrorist was the only one arrested, sources said.

This sounds a lot like those guys who tried to blow up a bridge in Cleveland i think it was. Thing is they didn't have a clue on how to build a bomb or get the materials needed to do it until the FBI supplied them with what they thought was a bomb and instructions and then busted them.

You'sd think the Ron Paul supporters would be happy about this.... because , don't they hate the Federal Reserve and want to basically, do the same thing?
    ...
Well, except, of course, without the blowing shit up and killing people. More like shut the thing down and toss its workers into the ranks of the unemployed.

  • A Bangladeshi terrorist tried to blow up the Federal Reserve Bank in Lower Manhattan this morning using a 1,000-pound bomb, according to a criminal complaint.

Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis, 21, of Jamaica, Queens, parked a van filled with the fake explosives — which were provided by an undercover FBI agent — outside of the Liberty Street building, authorities said, then tried to set them off using a cell phone detonator.

During a recorded meeting in Central Park with the agent, Nafis said his goal was Muslim global domination.

“I don’t want something that’s like small. I just want something big,” he said. “Something very big. Very very very very big, that will shake the whole country, that will make America, not one step ahead, change of policy, and make one step ahead, for the Muslims ... that will make us one step closer to run the whole world.”

Nafis, who is here on a student visa, came to the US to carry out a terror attack, authorities said, and claimed to have connections to al-Qaeda overseas.

He tried to recruit more terrorists to carry out an attack — in the process, he unwittingly enlisted the help of the undercover FBI agent.

The agent made contact with the jihadist in July, when the terrorist tried to recruit him for an attack, documents say.

Over a series of recorded meetings and phone calls, Nafis laid out his plans and said he had contacts with al-Qaeda who could help plan an attack.

Nafis first said that he wanted to attack a US official, and listed the New York Stock Exchange and a Baltimore military base among possible targets before settling on the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, according to court documents.

In an article he penned ahead of the attack, Nafis said he wanted to “destroy America” by targeting its economy.

“... All I had in mind are how to destroy America ... I came up to this conclusion that targeting America’s economy is most efficient way to draw the path of obliteration of America. ...”

He quoted “our beloved Sheikh Osama bin Laden,” to justify the fact that he expected to kill women and children, documents said,

What a waste that taxpayers will have to spend millions to support this piece of shit until he dies in a federal prison.

Yeah, there was an article in Rolling Stone a few magazines back that went into detail in rgards to the Cleveland bridge bomb. The informant the FBI used was a shady character and from the sounds of that article he basically set into motion a series of events that we dont' know would necessarily have occurred had he not been trying to make a paycheck by providing the FBI with "intel".
