Sending well wishes to this young activist who is speaking out about being able to get an education for young girls. Malala has been supporting and fighting for the rights of young girls since 11 yrs old.

She was shot while heading to school and the Taliban will continue to hunt her down till they kill her. :(

What a brave young women.

Here is the news clip - so very sad....

  • ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Taliban insurgents said on Tuesday that the Pakistani schoolgirl its gunmen shot in the head deserved to die because she had spoken out against the group and praised U.S. President Barack Obama.

Malala Yousufzai, 14, was flown to Britain on Monday, where doctors said she has every chance of making a "good recovery".

The attack on Yousufzai, who had been advocating education for girls, drew widespread condemnation.

Pakistani surgeons removed a bullet from near her spinal cord during a three-hour operation the day after the attack last week, but she now needs intensive specialist follow-up care.

Authorities have said they have made several arrests in connection with the case but have given no details.

Pakistan's Taliban described Yousufzai as a "spy of the West".

"For this espionage, infidels gave her awards and rewards. And Islam orders killing of those who are spying for enemies," the group said in a statement.

"She used to propagate against mujahideen (holy warriors) to defame (the) Taliban. The Quran says that people propagating against Islam and Islamic forces would be killed.

"We targeted her because she would speak against the Taliban while sitting with shameless strangers and idealized the biggest enemy of Islam, Barack Obama."

"We did not attack her for raising voice for education. We targeted her for opposing mujahideen and their war," said the Taliban. "Shariah (Islamic law) says that even a child can be killed if he is propagating against Islam."

Hi Pap, I will try and find Madonna's latest tattoo - that is very sad....

I just hope that Jolie is actually considerate and helping out because she has the means to actually do something about it.

Shot Pakistani schoolgirl can stand, communicate, hospital says

Malala understands where she is and wants to thank people for their support, hospital says
Malala is communicating through written notes; she can't talk because of a tracheotomy tube
She was shot after she defied the Taliban by insisting on girls' right to education

London (CNN) -- Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousufzai stood with the aid of nurses Friday for the first time since her shooting and is "communicating very freely," according to the director of the UK hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
Malala can't talk because she has a tracheotomy tube inserted to protect her airway, which was swollen after her gunshot injury, but she is writing coherent sentences, said Dave Rosser, director of University Hospitals Birmingham.
"We have no reason to believe she won't be able to talk when the tube is out, which may be in the next few days," he said.
She "is not out of the woods yet" but is doing very well, he added.

She needs to survive a tragedy like this just to show those who commited this crime maybe this wasn't the right thing to. Hoping her recovery will continue to go well past possible infections and such you are certainly an inspiration around this globe.
