I'm glad they finally called them out on this; there is no way Romney can cut of 4.8 trillion in taxes by eliminating loopholes and making it defecit neutral or eliminating important deductions for middle class people that will in turn raise their taxes...the math doesn't add up

    wow!

i just spit coffee on my monitor. there is no way that this adds up as romney and ryan say that it does...

in other news, chris wallace was just released from his fox news contract for openly questioning the gop nominee...

Right? I mean he's easily the most credible newsman they have but when he confronted him on the studies I was very surprised

i am really surprised too. but then again it is simple math and even those at fox realize that people are going to scrutinize the math and see that it does not add up.

that said, i think him and shep smith are the only legitimate newspeople that i have ever seen on that network.

Bump...c'mon folks, would love to hear some GOP friends comment on this. His entire tax policy is based on these cuts and not one loophole is being mentioned and the faithful at Fox don't believe it can be done..

    :corn:

this is the crux of his economic plan. when fox is questioning it, there must be a real problem with it... such as... math...

I like Chris for the fact that he uses common sense, not party pom-poms (although parts of the way the article was written came off as somewhat biased, not to mention some of the headers above it).

Anyway, I watch Fox among other outlets, and have found Bret Baier and Brit Hume, among others, to be reliable newsfolks as well.

I would've just linked the YouTube video but was lazy, didn't read much of the article, got it from reddit but was just surprised to see these comments get aired. Kind of a rarity

It is looking like the real reason why Mitt Romney won’t give the details about his tax plan is because there aren’t any. Romney might actually be telling the truth when he states that he is going to figure it out later with the Congress, but figuring it out later with the Congress is also political code for, “we’re not going to pay for this,” and that is a truth that the Romney campaign desperately does not want to admit.

The Fox News/Romney marriage should never be described as good. Much like most of the right, they are supporting Romney because he is the nominee. Chris Wallace’s questioning of Gillespie was more proof that Mitt Romney doesn’t trust Fox News, and Fox News doesn’t trust Mitt Romney.

Anytime a political candidate says *we will figure this out later* they are actually throwing crap against the wall and seeing IF it sticks. The math isn't adding up so it doesn't have a chance of sticking, yet folks want to put their trust in this man because he was a business man/governor...the only business I see Romney doing is pulling some funny business over half this nation.

The President needs to be the one to call Romney out on this tax question and be quite firm to get an answer...the voters deserve to know what he has to say.

Romney's plan to add so many workers, his tax plan.. it all sounds great but impossible.

Another opportunity to explain the math and mitt still won't give a single loophole to close. He's instead going to negotiate it with a congress that has an approval rating of about 10% and has been in gridlock for a couple years now...sounds like a great economic policy
