Ever quit a job you absolutely love?

I've been given until tomorrow to tell my work if I'll be there next year or not as I finish my teaching degree (so long as I pass this one fucking maths subject I have to do), and it is time to look for a big boy job.

As a teacher, I'd obviously get paid more, and room to move and it is what I have trained for, but I love my job. And if it wasn't for the reasons I just stated, I'd love to stay.

Arrrrghh... bit emotional... :(

As far as the site yes. I had to log in coming through pearljam.net I wouldn't let me use pearljam.com

With the job, you'll make the right decision. Do what you feel and leave on a positive note in case an oppurtunity ever comes back and you want to go back.

Yes. I've had to do that a few times when we moved across the country for my husband's job.

I quit a job I loved years ago and never regretted it, even if I still look back with a lot of nostalgia as does everyone else who worked there at the same time (most of us quit around the same time too).

I got promoted once. Not an immediate pay increase, but an area of my company with a higher, more secure ceiling.... but I left a position that was my favorite job ever. Worked outside, drew maps, did a lot of calculations and made drawings, no pressure, etc... To go back into an office. That killed me.

Yes...I loved the job I had before coming to my current job. It was a small non-profit and there really wasn't any room to grow. I've been able to grow a lot clinically and professionally by making that move. I like my current jobs, but that one felt like home.
