I was a big fan of the original Kiss lineup back in the day, and have been enjoying the new one for what it is after picking it up from ITunes earlier this week.

I figured Nirvana would get in first ballot. Makes sense, cause Bleach was released 25 yrs ago, (first eligible statistic), and also, It will be 20 yrs since Kurt died. In the eyes of the media, Nirvana lead the legacy for the grunge era to become nationally popular. So I'm not surprised.

Kiss- very influential on so many other bands- based on an interview I read last year, they didn't think they would get in, but, nice to see them in as well.

  • Never really liked them....but they deserve it.

Iron Maiden and Deep Purple deserve it too...

First rock concert I ever saw, I was hooked on rock music ever since 1978. Say RUSH needs to be in already if they make up guys are in that hideous place. ;)

  • Kiss Army alumni circa 1979 here! Wish I still had my Kiss dolls, lol...

Well deserved, IMHO. These guys still put on an amazing live show.

They did a promo at SPAC (Saratoga) a few years ago and bought a pair of balcony seats and one lawn seat... the lawn seat purchase allowed me to bring in up to four kids 14-under for free. I took full advantage and we kept swapping out the balcony pair throughout the show. Kiss played all their best hits (their setlist is pretty fixed from show to show) but did so with great pyro-technics, musicianship and showmanship. Paul Stanley even gave the band a 10 minute break and gave a PSA about the troops in Iraq/Afghan and played a great solo Whole Lotta Love cover... They dub themselves "the hottest show on earth" and I'd say they're pretty close... Rob Zombie does a bit more with props but you shouldn't bring youngsters to his shows.

    I approve of this election!
