It's amazing what really weird sick shit happens but I have to ask, does it really deserve so much of our attention since, more often that not, that probably is the intention of the act?

    i think humans have a morbid sense of curiosity. and the need for that sort of spectacle drives some of what we see in the news. just ask news stations. weird sick stuff sells magazines, generated mouse clicks and page views, and tv ratings.

    should we be above it? yes. but i don't think it is possible for most of us to ignore stories like the bath salt face biter or the casey anthonys of the world.

    But really, are we not flooded with this? Are we not the ones doing the flooding?

    Twitter, Facebook, youtube, etc.?

    Posting every random thought, every image, every TMI-moment...wanting followers, feedback, attention?

    It's become a look-at-me world.

    I'm thankful to still have the option of privacy.
