It was the altitude

  • Dude said the altitude effected a guy's debating skills. Idiot.

Yes. A single odd statement means that person is an idiot.

And what he said was "When you go to five thousand feet, and you only have a few hours to adjust, I don’t know."

As someone who lives at Sea Level and has had to fly to Colorado or Banff to shoot a movie, I'll tell you that when you suddenly find yourself a couple miles higher and in air much thinner... in fact yes... it does slow your whole... everything. It's why I always fly out a couple days in advance and sleep for a day or so to acclimatize myself.

Did that affect the president? No idea. But let's not forget that Mitt Romney thinks he's descended from aliens and they're used to low-oxygen.
  • And why I hate her is if this was Obama up against an incumbent Mitt her tune would be entirely different. She is a cheerleader creator just like Rush. We'd all be better off if they all just disappeared one day.

So you've never actually watched her show, then.

Because some of the most pointed and harsh criticism of the president over the last four years has come from her.

And not that batshit tinfoil hat stuff like birth certificates and secret Muslim socialist nazi stuff.

Very pointed critiques on a lot of his policy decisions and tactics. She's angered a lot of liberals because she HASN'T been a cheer leader and even in that clip... she wasn't one. At all.

That's the first thing I thought about that post... you were talking to democrats who saw the debate and are now thinking that Romney might be okay? BS!!

For the record... if that guy actually lived here, we'd have run him out of town on a big fat rail years ago.

I actually DO live here. And no.. today at Tender Greens, people were just saying "wow... he looked tired.. must have been up shagging Michelle all night. Oh.. have you tried the Lentil Salad? Amazing."

then we all got our text message asking us to enter a number to donate money to the president... we did... we finished lunch and went back to our studios.

    the end.
I actually DO live here too. Come across all types, and, actually speak to them! Actually work with them. Actually listen to them.

Got a wide range of comments and perspectives yesterday. Good shit.

(thank god I only get text messages from those close to me)

Oh, I'm just kidding. I figured the Lentil Salad was a good tip off. I'm sure there are plenty of people everywhere who took many different things from that debate. But most of the will have forgotten by this afternoon. With the new unemployment numbers, the debate is already off the front page.

Truth be known, the only time I actually look up from my editing bay is to come here and debate with my PJ fan family and aside from letting my dogs out into the yard, I haven't been out for over a week. Post-production is a bitch.

Al Gore is not an idiot. He's actually a brilliant guy but I think not the best politician.

And no... he did not invent the internet, nor did he ever CLAIM to have invented the internet. That's a lie made up by right-wing news pundits.

But the people who DID actually "invent" the internet have all said that without Al Gore, it wouldn't exist the way it does today. So... take from that what you will.

I personally think it sounds like a possibility, but not a good excuse. There are no good excuses. Sure, he might have been feeling fucked up from the altitude. Or on another day he might have had the flu... or a migraine... in either case, it doesn't matter. You either rock the debate or you don't. The reason why you don't is totally irrelevant.
What is also totally irrelevant is how they did in this debate. Didn't change anyone's mind. Everyone who knew Romney is a liar still knows it, and anyone who hated Obama still hates him.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
