Were the people that voted for Obama in 2008 saying he was a gay Marxist, Muslim Kenyan? Umm...nope. Still, nice try...I think.
It has been asserted in this forum that if Obama doesn't get re-elected it will because their is a great racial divide in the US which is preposterous because he wouldn't be running for re-election if there was.

So you're suggesting that because a black man is running for re-election, there can't possibly be a racial divide in America? Do you understand the meaning of the term 'racial divide'? It means a large percentage of people are racist, as opposed to another large percentage of people, who aren't, or who are from an ethnic minority. Pretty simple when spelled out in black and white, if you'll excuse the pun.
That is EXACTLY what I'm suggesting.

If a large percentage of the people are racist, a black man would not have been elected in 2008. We would elected the grey-haired white dude and the hot chick.

JP...don't assume that racism is dead because O-bama is president....I live in the South...I see and hear things...

I would say a percentage of people are racist, I wouldn't say Large, though...

If our President does not get reelected it won't be because of the color of his skin,
it will be performance. If it were the color of his skin, as some seem to think
    and in a negative way,
he would not have been elected to begin with.

It's going to be a close one! Fun!!

Um, wasn't it you who asserted in another thread that the main reason he was elected on the basis of him being the first black president???????

Isn't it also racist to vote for President Obama just because he is black?

    yes exactly...
the positive way (love!) not the way some people here are eluding to racism (hate)
    if he is not reelected.
If hate persisted at the level some are talking of he would not have been elected in the first place.

I don't believe that is racism. When he was elected it was a historic moment for a race.
Because they voted for their man out of love, admiration and yes because they identified with
    him.
For me that is not racism. Perhaps I need to look up the definition.
