I need some help from my Canadian friends!

I'm searching for a (rock?) band from Canada whose name pronounced like, sounding like something in the lines of Exeter or Cracker. After a quick search I found one band from Thunder Bay called The Knackers. A Greek friend of mine suggested me to listen to them after he was host to a couple of Canadians around 2007-2008. I don't know if that's going to help anyone but it was around the same time (2007-2008) that he gave me a CD containing MP3 albums by Madrugada, Fu Manchu and Kyuss. Maybe, they were a hit in Canada back in 2007-2008 or something. Can someone please help me out here?


P.S: Can you please also suggest me some celtic or celtic rock bands like FFR Celtic Fiesta? Thank you in advance.
