    Boston!

and take a drive to Cape Cod. We had an awesome 5 days doing this.
Be sure to see the aquarium in Boston, if you like such stuff.
It's my favorite in the country.
  • Obviously I have a bias here, but Chicago isn't bad. :D

It really depends on what you want to do. You can't go wrong with either city. Boston is more chill. NYC has a ton to do. Chicago is somewhere in the middle. All 3 have great food and a lot of things to keep you occupied for a few days.

I am partial to Boston because I live about 30 minutes outside. but In the past 3 years I have been to NYC and Chicago and had a great time in both.

(And for the record: Boston's (New England) aquarium is pretty good, but there are lots of better ones around the country I have been to. Monterey Bay for one. Mystic I thought was a little nicer, and it's also close to Boston. The NE Aquarium in Boston, while nice, is dated at this point...and I was just there with my daughter 2 weeks ago and the penguin exhibit is closed until next year)
Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"
  • Never been to Boston but I prefer Chicago to NYC...as long as it's not in the dead of winter!
We were but stones your light made us stars

Yeah, I don't think any of these 3 cities are enjoyable in the dead of winter.

OP should make the Chicago trip over the summer....doesn't get any better than summer in Chicago.

When we were there the workers in wet suits were feeding and swimming with the penguins!
So cute that was. Now there's a job to enjoy!

I liked it because it is a circle that winds up up up. The new Atl aquarium is set like
a museum with a huge noisy lobby... go into one exhibit return to noise, go to the next.
I like an uninterrupted underwater journey.

Never been to Monterey hope I can do someday...

Yes, I see NE is being renovated done next summer

will put that one back on the list too if I'm ever so lucky to get back.

Oh and Cheers Boston! :D still got my mugs 8-)

My vote is for Chicago. I live in Indy, and we try to get up to Chicago as often as we can to visit. It is a cool, big city with the Midwest feel to it. Weather can definitely kick you in the teeth if it's cold and especially WINDY! But, you can always get downtown hotels at a reasonable cost, too.

Chicago AND New York. NYC is mostly awake all night like Vegas. Chicago is just freakin GREAT. Its beautiful and just the right amount of busy yet calming and a great place to walk around and be amazed by the scenery. Boston......... jk Boston is awesome when the boys are in town!
